The Old Wheatsheaf is quite close to the other half’s work, so we often end up here in the evenings for a pint(or two or three or four). I love the old fashionedness of the place. It has two sides that you physically have to go outside and in another door to get to. It apparently dates back to the days when men and women went to different sides of the pub. It’s quite amusing. It also makes it funny to meet people as you have to check both sides to make sure that no one has arrived yet. I also love the beer selection. They change it up quite a bit. Bombadier has been on draught recently. Spot on! It’s nice to have some tasty ales and a variety! Hooky, Doombar, and Broadside are also often around. All in all, a good time is had every time I come here.

Looks like a proper pub(a traditional two room pub, no less) and while a range that consists of Doom Bar, Woodfordes Wherry and Courage Best is not the most original or exciting, the first two at least are fairly decent beers!
