Beautiful tea, breakfast and lunch spot tucked away off Falkirk High St. In an area where every other shop on the high street is closing or looks a little shambolic, or is a Costa, it’s lovely to see a thriving independent business. And it’s not surprising, the service was lovely, the teapots & china cups are beautiful and the food is amazing! I had the homemade waffles with bacon & maple, and my mum’s big breakfast looked lovely. You can choose between linked or square sausages, there’s a veggie option and homemade cakes every day from their bakery next door. Now I just need to squeeze in another visit so I can do their afternoon tea in Wee Jenny’s next door.

Tea Jenny’s is a lovely little place tucked down a lane in Falkirk town centre. It was Saturday lunch time and packed, my goodness they have really crammed in the tables here. Thankfully they’ve opened up a second place, right next door, called Wee Jenny’s…Wee Jenny’s also has an ice cream parlour which I’m looking forward to trying when it isn’t winter… The staff were very friendly and showed us to our table. I ordered a chai and a chicken, bacon and brie panini. We had to wait a little but this may have felt worse thanks to not having breakfast, but considering how many people were there, it wasn’t too bad. The chai was nice, it had glittery, simmering sprinkles on top which fascinated me for a while. It wasn’t The Best chai ever, but yummy none the less. The Panini again was nice, a little on the plain side, and I would have liked to have been offered side alternatives, however the salad Looked lovely :) The cakes however… my goodness I am going back to sample their cakes. The have a victoria sponge and cheesecake daily, then three different scrumptious looking cakes each day. Rainbow cake, Malteser cake and some sort of caramel twix looking cake mmmm! If you find yourself in Falkirk it’s a lovely little independent café which you really should try.
