The best thing I can say about BRGR is that it’s consistently good. It might not be the best burger in town, but you can go there more often than not and get a very good burger and decent sides for a very reasonable price. The key thing here is that the burgers are really good value — £4 Monday — Friday, and a fiver at the weekends. For that price they are extremely good value — you’ll get a good sized burger, that’s juicy without being stupidly messy, and has a bunch of extra toppings. These prices have been there since it opened, so it’s interesting to know if they will change. At the current price you can’t beat it, especially in the area, but put them up to full price it might change things a wee bit. Sides are also of a good standard — the poutine is really good, the fries are solid, and the mac cheese is also good(although the last time we were there it was a little watery). Drinks are pretty cheap as well — a good selection of soft drinks and some bog-standard beers at cheap prices that make them acceptable. It’s also a pretty nice space — big windows make it quite light, and the staff are always friendly. A word of caution though; mistime it, and it can be a little busy — it seems to be a favourite for the local teenagers at the weekend. It can be a little crowded on these times, but you can still probably get a seat, and it actually gives the place a bit more life. So, 5 stars then. It’s not the best burger in Glasgow(but it’s definitely top quarter), and it’s maybe not worth making the trip out to Giffnock for, unless you stick a Whole Foods trip on as well. It gets the 5 stars as it’s the one place we can go when we can’t be bothered cooking and know we are going to get a really good meal, enjoy our time being there, and not spend loads in the process. If you’re local, and you fancy a good, quick, and reasonable meal then it’s well worth it.

On a glum and rainy Glasgow afternoon I drove through the busy holiday traffic and started becoming hangry The road is busy and no parking however right around the back of this place there’s the train station parking lot Walked in and was taken aback at how busy it was, full of high school kids enjoying their freedom on the last day of school, sitting around chatting and eating Felt quite jealous that there wasn’t any place like this while I was at school Great cool interior, Brick walls with milk urns reused as cool lighting with reclaimed wood adorning the walls
The guy serving was super friendly and helped with the menu explaining their specials Phili cheese steak, normally £8 going for £4!!! Then with a side of poutine for £3 it works out a lot of delish food for not much money, so I treated myself to a large banana milkshake £4 I have had more tender cheesesteaks but certainly not for £4 The poutine was the right balance of cheese and gravy however the fries were a little bitty, small and broken, quite difficult to pick up with the wooden spork given I found the burger cardboard holder to save my fingers getting sticky a fantastic touch I loved the milkshake! So much so I got one of the dreaded ice headaches from drinking too fast I am on the fence regarding the price, is it worth £4, I would happily have it again, not for £4 tho, £2 small £4 large … I think it should be more £2 and £3.50 I know it’s only 50p but it’s a clincher sometimes! So will I go back hell yeah! Great food at a great price and lovey staff

Here’s me admitting I was wrong to hold back that extra star from BRGR. I was pretty skeptical when it first opened as I didn’t expect to like it, but I did(4-stars worth of love, in fact). But now I’ve been 4 times and I have to admit that I am a bit in love with BRGR. Reasons: 1. The burgers are so cheap. £4 burgers Monday — Friday and just £5 on the weekend. I’ve now tried the chicken bacon cheese and the cheeseburger, and they were both awesome. In fact, the chicken burger almost has too much chicken on it(what a thing to complain about) — I tend to take off one of the fillets of chicken and eat that separately. 2. But they are also really good burgers. I mean, I could get a cheap burger somewhere else and it could taste like rubbish. I’ve tried a few burgers here now and they are consistently tasty and properly fresh cooked. 3. Staff. They are all proper friendly and welcoming, and manage to run the place calmly even when it’s pretty manic and busy. 4. Sides. Ok, I wasn’t won over by the wings when I first had them but since then I’ve tried the poutine(yes) and mac cheese(oh yes) and really enjoyed both of them. 5. Drinks. They could easily mark-up the drinks to cover the cheap burgers but cans are £1 and the booze is reasonable too. I’ve ever had a nice rosé here. 6. Lunch burgers. Ok, they open at midday during the week. I work from home about 5 minutes drive away. I haven’t been for lunch burgers YET because I feel like this is a slippery slope to burger-related-heart-disease. But it might happen soon. 7. And finally — delivery. They told me last week that they’re hoping to start delivering by the end of the month. See point 6. I will try to resist this for as long as possible. So yeh, I am pretty in love with BRGR. We recently popped in for a mid-afternoon snack(Graeme managed to distract me from going for a lazy Maccas drive through) and our meal for two was £10. Amazing. See you soon, BRGR.

I’m a regular at Whole Foods so have passed BRGR many times and never really thought to pop in. Today though, with a craving for something fattening and delicious, I seen a pop up on Facebook with pictures of delicious looking burgers and poutines. They do a week day deal on Burgers so I decided to venture down for a takeaway. Inside it’s pretty much like all the other trendy burger joints, wooden benches etc. It’s quite small but plenty of seating. The staff were polite and helpful. The burgers are served medium as standard but they were happy to make mine well done since I’m heavily preggers! I went for the cheese and bacon burger which is served with there house Mayo, salad and pickles, and some sweet potato fries. I had planned on driving home to eat it but the smell was just too much and I ended up unashamedly scoffing it in the car! The burger was soooo juicy and was more like a mixture of minced and chunks of beef. Everything on it paired perfectly. The sweet potato fries were amongst the crispiest I’ve ever had(what’s the deal with soggy sweet fries?) but could have done with a good shaking of salt. Along with a can of juice I paid £7.50 which isn’t much more than a McDonald’s these days! Top quality and thoroughly enjoyed! Lose stars for rubbish parking nearby unless you park at the train station where spaces are few and far between! I’ll be back again next time my cravings take hold !

Stopped at this place en route to a pantomime at the Eastwood Theatre for a cheap pre-panto scran. £4 a burger? YESPLEAAAAAAASE! The other half wasn’t feeling too confident appetite wise for a burger so punted for salad(I know, right?). That being said, £4 for what looked like a nice enough salad was fair enough. Now for the main attraction — the burger. I opted for the cheese and bacon burger, and I wasn’t disappointed. Cheese tastes like actual cheese and not your run of the mill plastic nonsense. The bacon was crisp and just the right amount. The relish of burger sauce and pickles was the pinnacle of excellence and made the whole thing rather spectacular. Sides; fries and slaw. Both as enjoyable as the burger. No complaints there — apart from the girlfriend stealing some of both(and perhaps regretting that salad choice?). This place is cool inside. Perhaps too cool for us mid-twenties folk? It’s the sort of place as a teenager I would’ve loved catching a burger and milkshake in with a group of friends at the weekend — and the long tables sure give it that element of social dining for just that purpose. The slight grumble I have about this place is the staff — not the friendliest(I was expecting a bit more banter with the burger), but I guess we all have bad nights, right?

A-OK indeed… What a cute little place! A little chaotic, but wasn’t going anywhere so didn’t mind. Veg burger was not as falafel-y as I expected, which is not a bad thing. There are so many falafel burgers out there that are over spiced and too grainy. this one is milder and more smooth. Sorry I forgot to mention the toppings! Cider onions must be the best and are not made with alcohol, how great is that?!?

Had never heard of this place until a friend said about meeting here for lunch and a long awaited catch up. I ordered the smokin’ chick, which was great really enjoyed it and wolfed it down cause it was so tasty. Can’t go wrong with a £5 burger on a Saturday afternoon. £4 on a week day which also seems like a good deal!

Where to start? Clearly this is a burger place. It’s nice and local for me, and is very handy as right night to. Massive car park. I’ve been here twice in the past 2 weeks, so felt it was time to review! The tables are laid out like burgers meats Bun, with a big central table, and others around the main table. There are also 2 booths of you are lucky you’ll get one. On my first visit I went with the wife, we got 3 sides to share, buffalo wings, Mac n cheese and Cajun sweet potato fries. I got the«hot coo» burger and J got the«barbie coo» burger. The sides were All a good size and complimented the meal well, the Mac was a bit plain, but that may just be compared to the wings, which were absolutely spot on! Best I’ve had in a long time! The sweet potato Cajun fries were nice as well! My burger, the hot coo, was a good size, and the hot sauce, jalapeños and cheese just made it even better! J’s barbie coo looked great, with some BBQ sauce and an onion ring, she said it was a great burger! We got 2 drinks each and the bill was £22. On my second visit I went with my mate FC, I went for the same sides, without the Mac n cheese, and got the Highland coo burger. My mate got the bacon cheese burger(classic) and chilli cheese fries. The haggis burger was nice, but o wouldn’t order it again, it was a bit messy! FCs chilli cheese fries, as you can imagine they were fries with chilli on top, the cheese was the American style canned cheese. These looked excellent, and the portions were generous! I’d recommend this to anyone, especially during the week, at £4 a burger mon-fri it’s a great spot!

The good: the burgers are brilliant. American quality. Got the chicken strips kids meal for the wee man and those were quite tasty as well. Fries were oddly teeny but yummy anyway. I got my food to go but the atmosphere in the restaurant was modern and casual. The kind of place you go to grab a quick bite but turns into several beers and good chat. The bad: when ordering my husband’s highland coo I asked if there was any mayo. The server wasn’t sure if the pepper sauce had it so I asked for it to be on the side. I get home with the food, the pepper sauce is on the side, but for some reason his burger is lathered in a mustard /mayonnaise sauce which I think is the«BRGR sauce.» The ingredients for the Highland Coo are«cos lettuce, caramelised onion, haggis, cheddar, and pepper sauce.» Doesn’t say BRGR sauce. I mention this because the manager and the woman who served me(the latter under her breath to same manager, unaware that I can hear people three feet away even if there is a counter between us) insisted it was on the menu. I’ve now scoured the menu and I can assure you that nowhere does it say«BRGR sauce automatically included even if not listed, even if you just specifically mentioned that you don’t want mayonnaise and *do* want sauce on the side.» I do appreciate that they gave me a new burger *and* refunded my original one. And I also know that the customer isn’t always right and managers/servers are within their rights to get snippy with people complaining about nonsense. But my complaint was valid and I was given a lot of attitude for it. I’m going to put this down to new restaurant teething problems. The burgers were too good for me not to give them another chance! So I would say give this place a shot, just be very clear about what you want and double check what comes out before going home!
