I hate second hand shops They are smelly, poor merchandise and nothing you would dream of having new never mind used This place however is a nostalgic dream, full of all those brings you didn’t know you needed, from old 35 mm slr cameras to that record that you wanted when you were younger Great place for a rummage and helpful yet not overbearing staff

I found my ideal espresso cups thanks to the very helpful person in the shop, was just about to leave(having spent a little while browsing the shelves and aisles, but not quite got what I needed) but when I mentioned what I was looking for she showed me some next to the till– they were almost art deco in style and has bold colours. Wonderful! I also browsed the books(some Ladybird books were reminding me of being little) and also saw some great glasses and kitchen things. They have a selection of vinyl at the entrance, and a rather splendid bike. Affordable vintage and retro and lovely helpful staff.

Alison’s shop is a veritable Aladdin’s cave of wonderful things from years gone by… you can’t help but say to friends and strangers«my mum/gran/auntie used to have one of those» or(in the case of her collection of old Ladybird books) «I can remember reading those at school!» Loads of brilliant collectible items that you can’t find anywhere else, and her range of dolls house furniture is wonderful. Also don’t miss the second half of the shop in the unit next door which has recently opened — the Record Box, an absolute must for vintage vinyl addicts!
