Funny how I came here and didn’t order a cup of coffee. Definitely will be back to try a cup and to do work! Loved the open space and the hustle and bustle of people coming in and out for meetings, chit chats or to do work. Gonna have to return really soon!

Upping my review for ATIC having now been a few times more(I did say I liked the space, and the people are okay too). I’ve had a few good espressos from here now, and while they don’t reach the excellence of Lab or other more purposeful coffee places they hit far closer to the mark than some of the other more supposedly dedicated coffee shops in town. So, grab your book or laptop and head here to get your head down and drink some good coffee in a space that changes every week and has plentiful seating for those days when you just don’t want to be sat at home. Oh, and it’s cheap too — excellent when you need a coffee and you have just a few pieces of change left in your wallet.

I want to like this place, but it just doesn’t cut it for me. I like the minimalistic interior, the coffee’s good, and the WiFi fast. However, this place did not give me much warmth aside from my flat white. A few people were displaying their crafts and art work, but aside from this, the place totally lacks a personal touch. There is nothing on the walls and no background music. It seemed as if the café had just opened for the first time. I won’t sit in again, but I might come back for a takeaway coffee…

If you like well made espresso drinks, then this is the best coffee spot in Glasgow. Also has a good vibe, wifi, and spots for working.

The gentlest, fluffiest latte there is in this part of town! Perfect for an arty wonderer.

All That Is Solid, the name is as confusing as trying describe what this place actually is. Basically, from my limited understanding after visiting at the weekend is that its a fancy espresso bar which stock Dark Green coffee, an artisan coffee roaster in our very own fair city. In addition to the fantastic coffee is a bookshop and showroom displaying all kinds of art, furniture and exhibitions. It a really minimal and great looking space. Arty as hell in other words. Fortunately the staff were really friendly and it doesn’t feel remotely pretentious. We only popped in for a caffeine fix after visiting the nearby record store and were well chuffed with the coffee. It hit the spot nice and proper. Slightly limited food options, but then again, one of the few things it ain’t is a restaurant.

If anyone knows of anwhere in the city centre doing a better cup of coffee I’d dearly like to know. Fantastic beans and a well made cup in nicely arty surroundings. Nice uncomplicated sandwiches out a tiny fridge and very pleasant staff too.

Boom. Still got it. Having once never cared if my liquid bean juice was served to me latted, cappuccinod, rich, bitter, Starbucked or Costad, I’m now in a situation where it has to be good(and I mean good) or it’s just not worth it. In my brain I have a map of Glasgow. In this map there is a legend(not a folk lore type legend, one of the guide type ones… wait, is legend the right word?) which has several little tabs. — Pubs — Grub — Coffee Under each I have a mental list of all the spot on joints in each area of town for each specific category. For coffee it reads: Merchant City… All That Is Coffee. Keeping it short. Popped in the other day for a quick flat white before a mane chop at the equally awesome Mo Hair(honestly, if you’re a man chap and have hair, this place is worth a visit) and left with a perfect example of how a coffee should taste. If you’re in this neck of the woods, it’s well worth a visit.

Passed by this place last week, and vowed to try it soon. it looks great, and seems as Chris pointed out, an art/design complex with a concession by GMBH, the folk at the Lighthouse. The coffee? meh. sorry, but the coffee nazi has kicked in, and it’s too hot and bitter as a result, which is a shame as it has the hallmarks of a great place, nice cakes, freshly roasted coffee, but it might be me catching it on an off day, or a stand in barista. i’ll be back again…
