Argos is always handy for those household items you can’t really find elsewhere — like the shower caddy I just got for a fiver(£25 anywhere else). Funnily enough the escalator was broken. Again. As per usual. But the staff were great — especially when I had to ask where the stairs were to get out. They seem to have misplaced their signs… The thing I don’t like is the way that you can reserve online and pay self service in store, but if you just pop in(like me today), you can check stock/flick through catalogue but then need to queue to pay.

A handy store located within sauchihall st. though on the few ocashions that I’ve been to this store it seems that at times the esculators into & out of the store seem to be out of order at times. Other than that the store is like any other Argos store the staff are freindly & helpful.

There is one thing l hate is waiting in a queue for an item that you can easily order on line and save all that time. Their catalogues look like sand bags there to prevent floods.

Right, okay… so I have a background(a degree in fact) in Supply Chain Management(aka logistics). So the concept or business model of Argos makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever. Step 1) enter the store and flip through a catalogue or use one of their electronic kiosks Step 2) pick out your item(s) Step 3) go to the first queue to pay for your item(s) Step 4) wait in ANOTHER queue to pick up your item Yes, Argos may offer the same quality items for much cheaper than retail price… but why on earth would you want to wait in 2 different queues to get something? Remember time is money people! At least for me it is. Lumberjack and I loathe this place because of the whole concept of waiting in 2 separate queues. When we were looking for a decent size saucepan, Lumberjack nearly had an anxiety attack as we went down the escalator. After a minute of flipping through the catalogues and not finding what we wanted, we peaced out and headed to John Lewis. Another time I went in for vacuum bags. The queues were annoyingly long. But it was the only place to get the bags because the vacuum in our old flat was from Argos. Hmphf. Bottom line: If I’m in desperate need of something that’s available at Argos at a cheaper price, then I’ll bite the bullet and go. Otherwise, I’m quite happy and content to order it online and have it delivered to my flat. The. End.

Argos is great, it has been with me from childhood and I just cannot match the fact that you can get everything of the same quality as other places, cheaper at Argos! Almost every time. This Argos is rather new, and a fantastic addition to Sauchiehall St. This side of town definitely needed its very own Argos as the other one way down on Argyle St is just too far. There are always queues in this Argos, and the escalator doesn’t usually work. Have I mentioned Argos is a bit behind the times, but it still has it. Where else could you get a nice black rolling suitcase to take on business trips for a meer £11.

‘The laminated book of dreams’. I love Argos. They helped me realise I was a humanitarian back when I was a kid. I would play a game where I picked 3 things from each page that ‘I could get’ and often found myself picking things other people in my family would like that ‘I would give to them’. The milk of my hypothetical human kindness doesnt really feed people in the real world however. Anyhow, I have ended up in this branch a few times after finding what I am after is out of stock elsewhere. The layout is much the same as any other Argos and you can pay with card on their wee gadget which eliminates messing around with wee pens or queuing up to place an order. A decent Argos. If you like Argos. I do!
