Cheap and cheerfull, and never short of a comeback or quirky comment. I look forward to a vist when i can. and the food is excellant.

Naively ignored by the hoards who flock to over-priced George Street eateries, the Bacon Butty is a more cost effective way of curing hangovers and clogging up arteries. I’m sure it comes as no surprises to learn this place is not a proprietor of dishes that are healthy. It is, however, a place to purchase things that are good, particularly when you’re on the move; sweets, crisps, rolls and sausage, rolls and potato scones and its signature dish, the bacon butty. Handily situated next to High Street station, this little kiosk also stocks newspapers and magazines. Always handy for a train journey.

Latched onto High Street train station, the Bacon Butty is essentially a small counter, offering a triple heart bypass in a bun. With a couple of tattie scone rolls for a quid(compared to the frankly outrageous two twenty in nearby Joanna Goodbite) this is a handy little place to know. Fortunately, it’s impossible to miss, and all of the staff are incredibly friendly. Why not purchase The Sun while you wait, for the most authentic experience?
