Writing from my boyfriends Unilocal account; loved Brewdog not only because of nice seletion of beers and chilled atmosphere but also because of selection of free sanitary products available in women’s toilets, felt welcome and comfortable and loved it!

I visited the BrewDog bar a couple of times last year, but then didn’t go for ages and ages, which is weird considering I’ve been living 5 minutes for a while now! Anyway, I went again the other day with my mum, for some beer and grub. I’m a big fan of BrewDog’s beers, and I tend to have the Punk IPA quite a lot of the time whenever I’m at the pub. Since their own bar has a much larger selection, I branched out this time and had the 5AM Saint(which I’ve had before) and the Vagabond, both of which were really tasty. I’m far from being a beer connoisseur, but I love the hoppy, flavourful beers that BrewDog do. Most(but not all!) of their beers are vegan, which is fantastic. As for the food, it was fantastic. I had the vegan burger, which is a seitan steak with tomato chutney, crispy kale and hummus, and it was amazing. They also have a veggie dog that can be made vegan, which is a tofu dog with avocado hummus, broccoli, carrot and scallion. I definitely want to go back to try it! The menu has changed a bit since last year, so I’m not sure if the veggie melt is the same as the veggie burger I had way back then. Anyhow, I did have a veggie haggis burger sometime last summer(when I wasn’t vegan), which I remember being really nice. They also have meaty options, so it’s a great place for everyone! The service has always been really good when I’ve been there, with friendly and knowledgeable servers. This time I had a nice chat with one of them about veganism! The interior is very hipster, industrial, laidback and relaxed. The high chairs aren’t the most comfortable, so grab a normal table if you can! Apparently it does get quite busy at times, but I’ve never been there on a weekend night, so I’m not sure.

BD Glasgow has to be high on the league table of ‘Bars with most impressive view from your bar stool’. Its huge windows give you a panorama of the spectacular beaut of a building that is Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum across the road — with the bar’s modern and industrial feel, it makes for a terrific contrast(though I did quietly wonder if the museum had perhaps lodged an objection to their opening). They obviously overcame any planning issues :) As with all the BD bars I’ve been to up to now, you can expect the same subculture of nerdy and/or beardy hopsters(I include myself in this category, by the way) enjoying ales from their heady range. We loved it in here as it was lively but not cramped; we could get a table easily on both times we visited over the weekend. With a prime location and a great atmosphere, though very much somewhere that most people need to go deliberately out of their way to visit, this has to be one of my favourite BD venues to date.

Brewdog is my favourite bar in Glasgow(well everywhere). The beer is great and really varied. The staff are really knowledgable and will happily help you and recommend beer. There is also a few wine, cider and soft drink options. The food is also really good, Brewdog is one of my favourite places to have lunch. In terms of beer there are lots of options, both Brewdog’s own beer and some other guest beers. Beers are usually served in sizes suitable for there strength, as the strengths vary massively(3.5% to a massive ~40%). There are also taster trays which are great for newbies. Personally I’d recommend an Elvis Juice, a grapefruit flavoured beer.

Trivial pursuit, Dear Green coffee and an amazing burger? Count me in. I love BrewDog, my Grandparents are from/live in Ellon, so it’s crazy seeing this brewery go from nothing to world domination. No, but really. The tesco beside the brewery, frequently runs out! Anyways, BrewDog Glasgow. I’ve walked passed here a lot, but never gone in. My brother was in town, so I figured he would be a good candidate to take here. His only irk due to a night out the night before was no irn-bru and mine was no iced latte. But hey, the coffee was great. Although my brother did roll his eyes at the serving, you know, on wood, in a glass cup, with the coffee in a glass conical flask, with the sugar in a kilner jar. But I loved it. It doesn’t say on the menu but the burgers each come with a helping of fries. We did try and order fries, until the waitress pointed this out to us. I had the spicy burger, it did have a cool name. I can’t remember said cool name for a hot burger. Anyway the sauce on it was sort of spicy, with some jalepones and I would definitely eat this again. The burger was also the perfect size, not too big where you struggle to finish it. My brother liked his, although not the gherkins! Will be back for proper pint soon!

How great is this place? We’ve walked by numerous times with thoughts of stopping in, especially for their BBQ, but had yet to, until last night. A group of our friends were bar hopping in celebration of Easter(why not, right?) and were here when we got back in to town from being away. They had a large booth, so my guy and I stood where they were sitting, which was fine by me. There was a wee dog bowl of water near my feet, which I kept kicking– luckily not spilling any. They only have one cider to order, which is fine by me, seeing as Brew Dog is known for their many many many local beers. Our friends went to town sampling all the delights on offer and even got my guy to try a cherry beer(I can’t remember the name of it) — which does not taste a bit like beer. It tastes like Haribo! If you know my guy, you know he will not even put his tongue to a beer, so this was a huge moment! Ha! Anyway, the place has a great vibe and smells like delicious BBQ. One of our friends ordered the peanutbutter ice cream sandwich that was on offer. He offered some to me, which I gladly tried. The peanut butter ice cream is a dream, seriously, you must try this! We didn’t order food, but vowed to be back ASAP for their lunch deal. I had to refrain from sampling the many trays of beef and mac and cheese that continually walked by us.(I’m not a weird who would actually touch another persons food– but gee, it looked amazing!!) Their little beer shop is great as well. I fully plan on taking some random beers home to my brother when we go to visit. He’ll be so excited! This is a great place! They even have women’s products in each toilet stall, which was a nice touch! I can’t wait to get back here!

Brewdog is possibly the main go to bar in the west ends for lovers of good beer. I’ve been in every other month since it opened a few years back and I’ve never been disappointed. Situated just in front of the art gallery, and though a bit off the main drag compared to other west end venues, it’s worth it for the trip alone. The venue itself is standard sized bar with a mix of seating, some larger benches for big groups and smaller seats too. There’s a selection of board games in the bar as well, which is great fun Though the main spectacle is the beer, brewdog do a range of food too. I’ve never tried the burgers but have been told by several people that they are one of the best in Glasgow, no mean feat! There’s also a range of other items including a meats and cheese board which looks pretty amazing. The beer itself is pretty special, there’s a standard draught range of brewdogs own creations, all pretty tasty. The selection changes pretty often so you can always get to try something new. They also stock other brewers on draught, which is always changing. They offer taster boards which are 4 beers served in 1⁄3 pint glasses, a nice idea if you can’t decide. The bottled range is pretty decent too, with a wide range of worldwide beers. There’s quite a lot of high percentage beers here too, which are sold in smaller measurements but are something worth a try, almost like a port in taste. Designated drivers aren’t left out either, with a very nice selection of soft drinks. Brewdog also offer their soft drinks at a discount to a designated driver, which is a nice touch. Overall it’s hard to fault brewdog, despite its location being a bit out of the way, it’s certainly worth the trip.

This is one of the best bars in Glasgow in my opinion if you are looking for genuinely the best selection of world craft beers in the city. It is a little bit on the pricey side but the quality is there and you don’t go into bars like this to get drunk in, the beers here are brewed to be enjoyed. The also serve a mean bit of food to partner your beer at great prices. The décor is kinda industrial with tables made of pallets and metallic influences throughout. With a home brew club, stew Sunday and board game nights with a decent music playlist in the background it really is a sociable pub to go to. So if you’re looking for a great bar with a chilled out vibe this is a good place to start

While I am not a fan of beer myself, I go here with those who are a fan, and of BrewDog in particular. I used to be a great fan of the food, loved the Pickle bites, described as mini pickles in batter and deep fried, but they are now serving pickle slices in batter with the same menu description, which come out soggy and disappointing and leave you with a slightly sour taste in the mouth. The Veggie Haggis bites and burgers are still good, but I have a real thing for pickles so this now disappoints for me :(

My only flaw with this place is that as it’s usually always jumping(thank goodness for dieting and Dryanuary in January — not for me!) and even at it a bit quieter it was still necessary for us to sit at a high table with stools; not a situation where I feel I can settle in for more than one round. However, as it was quiet the two of us at least had lots of room and didn’t have to share the 8-stooled table with others.(That vibe would probably be more of an advantage were there a group of us.) Their main thing is of course the beer, but their small food menu has a good variety of options, and we went for a veggie haggis burger for Mr D, and a falafel hot dog for me. I do prefer a hot dog I can pick up and shove in my face, however, this was delicious, the falafel was very green inside and I liked the effect of the drizzled hummus on top. I was happy that chips were included with hot dogs and burgers and though shoestring style fries aren’t my favourite, the options of smoked paprika or sea salt and rosemary as seasonings help jazz them up a bit, and the server was very helpful in offering to veganise anything that wasn’t already suitable as it usually comes. Drinks options are wide, and they have spirits and teas and coffees(Dear Green Coffee) if you’re not interested in beer. Their beers are suitable for vegans as standard, though some aren’t if non-vegan ingredients, e.g., milk, have been added as a flavour, but I’ve been in there a few times and staff are usually good with someone knowing which ones to avoid. I went for the Pumpkin King beer, quite tasty but at a small bottle and a standard %(about 5%) I didn’t feel much of a kick from it. I need to devise a way of more % to the £!

Brew Dog… it does beer, good beer and with a fantastic selection of their own brews and guest options. what’s not to like??? I find it more of a ‘I fancy a quick pint’ type of place rather than settling down for an all-nighter but each to their own! Beer of the year 2015 for me was their ‘Born to Die’ which had me steaming! Beers for all palates and bars all over the UK now so give it a go peoples!

Brewdog is great. Good beer, good food, games and nice people… What more could you ask for? French fries are delicious here. They put cayenne pepper on them and oh yes it is good!

Love coming here for beers, banter and a bite to eat! Punk IPA is a solid favourite but spoiled for choice on the beer front, I like to try the beer flights too. The staff are friendly and only too happy to give recommendations or tell you what’s new. The Viva Las Veggies burger is ace(but messy, be warned!) or if you’re just peckish try some of the snacky sides(the veggie haggis baws are well tasty). Would also recommend the cheese and beer tasting sessions that they do here too.

There are, as far as I can tell, two common complaints about BrewDog: 1. Punks don’t have AGMs! Punks don’t sell beer in M&S! –No, true. The punk thing is clever, tongue in cheek marketing. It’s supposed to be a bit of a joke. 2. All the beer is super hoppy. –Also pretty true. If you don’t like overly hopped beer this may not be for you. That said, they are starting to do more that isn’t quite so in your face with the hops. So maybe give them another shot Personally, I quite like the beer, although I do wish they’d bring back Trashy Blonde. I like trying the new things they have to offer as well as their guest ales. I recommend getting a tasting flight if you there are several beers you haven’t tried before(You get 4 different beers, a third of a pint each, normally coming in between £10 and £15). They do have a few ciders, wines and soft drinks but you’ll pay far to much for them. This place is all about the beer. The bar itself is quite nice. It has lots of natural light from the huge windows that face onto the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. There are booths, long benches and a couple of extremely comfortable sofas. The staff are very friendly and helpful, they’ll make recommendations, serve tasters and, if it’s quiet enough, run table service. There’s no TV, although they do have freee WiFi and a decent selection of boardgames. Afterall, everyone knows Jenga only gets better after a few pints. They do a selection of very respectable burgers, bar snacks and a few other meals as well as a surprisingly decent filter coffee and a range of teas. Bonus points because the Glasgow homebrewers group meet there on Mondays and because, although the toilets are quite small they are always clean and there have absolutely invaluable complimentary items available in the ladies. Oh, and they’re a living wage employer and quite right too.

Unilocal describes a 5 star place as «Woohoo! As good as it gets!», well they certainly nailed it with BrewDog’s Glasgow bar. From the outside the bar itself appears almost unassuming to those not already indoctrinated into the Cult of Punk, but what it lacks in flashy exterior it more than makes up for in warm, «West End-y» interior. Stripped wood tables and steal bar stools, booths and couches and a long bar with dozens of beers on offer tell the whole story of what it is BrewDog do. Unlike the Camden bar I reviewed last, the Glasgow bar has far more of a feeling of a purpose built temple to the craft beer revolution, rather than a converted old-man’s pub. Situated perfectly for access to Kelvingrove Art Galleries across the road and perilously close the Kelvin Hall’s gym facilities(many a good workout have no doubt been nullified in here) the bar is off the beaten track, neither falling on the bustling Byres Road nor on the newly minted urban hub of Finnieston. This visit I had a few new beers and a few favourites; JackHammer IPA, Hardcore IPA, ThisIsLager, Dogma, and Bounty-Hunter(the EFP exclusive of the day). All were exceptional, all were drinkable, though my advice with the Dogma is not to try to make a night of it(sore head anyone?) The bar wasn’t overly busy this visit so we got chatting to the barman who made recommendations and talked about Equity for Punks while we sipped his latest draught. As the bar filled up with displaced tourists from the closed Gallery across the road and the early evening traffic of people on their way home from work, you could really see the broad appeal of these beers. The burgers looked amazing, we didn’t have one but the guy eating beside us appeared to be having vinegar strokes over the taste. Overall it’s a must in the West End.

So I’ve changed my mind… That’s allowed ain’t it? Most things have not changed, the pub is still a decent place for a pint. The staff still helpfully let you try samples of beers you ain’t tasted before. They do nice looking burgers and they even let your dug in to share a beer with you. So why the updated review? I’ve had a change of heart. I now love the beer. Yes I know it’s not really small local brewing and they have the same bars everywhere, but I just love punk ipa, dead pony club and jackhammer. I can’t help it. The beer tastes good and to be honest it has started to be my brand of choice, so when sitting in the bar in Saturday I realised my previous review was unfair or perhaps just out of date. Brewdog deserves five stars it’s a nice place to have great pint and if your new to the brand you will actually find the place a bit quirky and unusual.(It’s not, they are everywhere now, but that don’t stop their beer being awesome)

I am more of a spirit drinker myself, however I do love BrewDog. Games just sitting waiting to be played, tables that allow you to talk to randomers when drunk and all in all friendly staff. Food is yet to be tried, however it did look yummy.

I kept hearing about BrewDog and well, I didn’t come soon enough! Now I can’t get enough! Obviously the beers are outstanding… It is BrewDog we are talking about here! To top it off the food is outstanding. They really know how to cook a burger. It is juicy like a burger should be, instead of a dry brittle overcooked crumbly rock. The toppings on the burger are wonderful too! Smoked cheddar, camelized onions, BACON, crispy onion rings, blue cheese, peppers, apples… the sky is the limit, but the concoctions are incredible! The fries are good, though I am not a big fan of paprika. Also, I keep hearing about their amazing hotdogs, but I have a hard time passing up the burgers! I will be sure to update this once I finally sink my teeth into one of the dogs! The music at BrewDog is always great, and the vibe is fabulous whether packed or mellow. My bartenders and servers have always been nice and informative, and have no qualms about letting you taste every beer on tap! But, warning, that may make your beer-selection-decision more challenging because you will want a few of them.

Handily BrewDog is just round the corner from where I live, so we pop in now and then, mostly on Fridays after a particularly grim week. It cheers me right up I can tell you. OK, so it’s a WEE bit gimmicky perhaps, but it’s also fun. Anyone that sends the Kremlin a crate of beer with pink labels featuring Vlad Putin himself is OK in my book. Plus, I like the actual pub in Yorkhill. It’s got a cracking view of the Kelvingrove Art Galleries, and the staff are great. Plus there’s generally a dog or two, which is just nice. And it’s very handy for Mother India and Banana Leaf should you get peckish/too drunk to cook after a few beers. Our most recent visit here was Hogmanany. I started with a chocolate beer. It was a dark stout, and actually did taste of chocolate. It was also super strong — 10. something %, so I just had a 3rd pint. It was delicious. I then had a Mulled Dogma — which was some sort of beer(sorry, the details are a little hazy), Kraken Rum, and various mulling spices. It was delicious! Oh I would have one of them every day! I love all things mulled, and this was particularly good. The other half had a beer cocktail. Yup, that was a new one on me. It had beer(sorry, non specific again), blue bols, pineapple juice, and something else. I had my doubts, but these guys know what they’re doing — it was really tasty and refreshing. If you’ve never had a beer cocktail, I would definitely recommend it. Also, I love that I can have a vegan nibble in here — the ‘You’re Having a Falafel’ falafel hotdog. And the chips come in a pint glass.

I. LOVE. BREWDOG. It’s been on my list for yonks but for some reason I never made it until just now. So, Saturday 6pm it was HEAVING! But there were loads of staff on so queues at the bar moved quickly. By 9, it was still busy but had quitened quite a bit. Music was great too, and not overbearingly loud. BrewDog’s own Punk IPA is super and might just be my new favourite beer. I also had the best burger I’ve had in years(possibly ever!). It’s called the ‘Up And ATOM’. Basically, it’s a really spicy cheese burger — but was so juicy and gherkinny and salady and really spicy. I actually made a kind of ‘mmmmmurghummmph!’ noise at the first bite. The cajun fries were great too — crispy with a little paprika-ish kick. And we only had to wait 10mins for it :) I want another burger and Punk IPA. Now. The memory is haunting me…
