Yes it’s an old mans pub but I’m middle aged so I like to go here to feel young. Good friendly customers. Never any trouble in it. The bar staff bend over backwards to get you served quickly. Probably the best«old mans pub» in Glasgow. Defo in the South Side.

I have to give this place a two, due to the poor selection of good beers and the really bad stench that filled the place when I visited. This is the sort of place you would only frequent if you had grown up here, and you’d never been enlightened as to how good proper beer can be. I would put it lower than The Corona.

Unspoilt working man’s bar, ideal for a quiet pint with a crossword. Pretty unfashionable so it doesn’t attract young noisy revellers or underagers worried about bumping into Grandpa.

A typical man’s bar located in Shawlands. The only things missing are the sawdust on the floor and a spitoon in the corner. The owners spend a bit of money doing up the outside of the bar, although I’m sure that many would have prefered to see the inside done up instead, especially the toilets which are very dirty and smelly ! That said, the beer prices are cheap and they show the horse racing/football on the telly(No music). The pub also doesn’t attract the local neds, so you are unlikely ever to get any hassle when drinking here. So if you are a racing/footie bloke and you fancy a having a beer in a «girlie free» zone then this pub will be your dream venue. Betting slips are located at the far end of the bar. There is a Tote next door and a Ladbrokes across the road.

The Georgic looks a little foreboding: it has a real old fashioned exterior: black, serious, with the next big game advertised on a chalk board in the doorway. Inside, it sadly doesn’t match up: the fixtures are nondescript and it has lost both the atmosphere of a local bar without the gains in appearance. It’s a very masculine environment: not rough, not unfriendly, but not really my kind of place.
