This is a wonderful shop, which has a great selection of gifts and goodies from a range of local artists, designers and craftspeople. It is on the upper floor of the De Courcy’s arcade and is quite small but contains a huge amount of things, all lovingly laid out. I liked the cards(some Glasgow scenes, some for celebrations like ‘Mister&Mister’ and ‘new home’, some just decorative) and the jewellery selection was beautiful. They also had prints and things for decorating your home like wooden plaques, candles and clocks. I bought my first Christmas gift today for a good friend, hope she likes the lovely thing I found for her, it was beautifully designed, quite unusual and well packaged. I bought a fun little brooch for myself as well, which was an embroidered space invader character in a heart shape. So quirky!

I love a nice wee gift shop and this one is very special — tucked away up on the first level of DeCourcy’s, it’s one of those shops where you love every single thing you spot in it. I want in to buy myself a replacement bday present(yes, that’s a thing). Sharon M had gotten me a lovely brooch here but it got snagged on my coat and fell off somewhere, so I needed another. While they didn’t have the exact match, the man in the shop went to check for me and see what other colours they had which was nice. The items stocked in this shop are very Scottish focussed and it’s great to see local artists featured. It has a lovely mix of stuff — cards, jewellery, accessories, ceramics, candles, prints. Prices are reasonable, staff are helpful and there’s lots to admire. Well worth a visit!

A little gem of a shop selling all sorts of Scottish crafts. If you want to support the Scottish craft industry this is the place to come! Lovely items for sale including stained glass and prints. I love shopping here for presents as you are guaranteed to find something different!

It had been a long time since I’d had a wander around De Courcey’s Arcade but I was in search of some birthday presents so I decided to pop by one wet Friday afternoon not long ago. The shops downstairs didn’t have anything I liked so I headed upstairs to see what was available and I was pleasantly surprised by what I found in Janet and John. Just to the left as you head onto the first floor, the shop offers a great mix of local Scottish crafts, handmade toiletries, stationery and jewellery. Within 2 minutes I’d found about 5 things I wanted to buy for myself! The prints on offer were particularly great with my favourites by ‘BatBoy’, combining some of my favourite geeky things(Batman and Star Wars) with some Scottish flavour. I’m definitely going back for the R2-D2 ‘wee man’ and AT-AT ‘nice pins’ prints when I move house later this year. I hadn’t planned on picking up something for my brother’s birthday but when I saw the perfect print for him I had to get it. I really like the jewellery too, with an interesting mix between wooden, acrylic and bead pieces. I ended up opting for a wooden broach for the other present I was looking for. As well as having great choice the prices were also really reasonable and the staff super friendly. I’ll definitely be heading back soon!
