This shop doesn’t really seem necessary to be honest, a bit of a surplus requirement when you have Roland Butter, Joanna’s and the Co-op on the same line of shops. I had a sweet chilli chicken panini from here when I couldn’t be bothered waiting in the queue in Joanna Goodbites. I wasn’t impressed to be honest. The chicken was from a full chicken, not chopped breast which totally put me off. I could just imagine one of the old ladies who worked there pulling meat off of a chicken carcass and chucking it in a vat of chilli sauce. Yuck. It’s not too pricey considering where it is, just over £3.00 for the panini was reasonable. They also do a small selection of hot food, and sell newspapers and sweets.

A busy enough wee place, but it’s overshadowed by Joanna Goodbites just a few doors down the road for a quick breakfast bite. It gets cramped inside and the décor is awkward looking. The food is alright, but not really worth the money. I dont like that you can see really visibly what is going on in the back. Not that there’s anything suspect going on, but I am a bit weird like that. I’d rather not see hands touching my food. I always feel like I am in a production line in there, and not really a valued customer. Glass bottles of Irn Bru are 80p, which is decent thesedays. I would suggest if you are on George Street you satisfy your culinary requirements in the morning time at Joanna Goodbites or the Co-op next door.

I was all set to get my lunch out of here. I strode up to peruse the menu, and was in the middle of trying to decide, when I heard a lament from the kitchen: «Ah needa faaaag» Needless to say, this kind of put me off, so had to make do with a Caramel Freddo. I’m not saying that if you smoke, you can’t prepare food, but I just found it a bit off-putting. I’m awarding 3 stars because I didn’t actually taste any of their food, but they might want to keep their habits a bit quieter.
