We keep coming back here because it consistently out-performs anything else in the area. The food is always great, with gluten/lactose free alternatives always available for those with food intolerances(Victoria, one of the owners, suffers from Crohn’s so knows all about this subject), and the portions are just right — not too small, not too large. Prices are very reasonable for the West End, especially the pre-theatre menu, making it unbeatable value on all fronts. I would(and have!) put Peters against any restaurant on Byres Road for value, quality of food, and service.

I am always recommending this restaurant to people when they ask where to go in Glasgow, particularly if they have any food allergies/intolerances. Most restaurants are quite good with this kind of thing but PWE definitely is in a class of its own with the information on the menu as well as double checking specifics if you do tell them you have some intolerances. Sadly, I don’t visit here enough, I think my last visit was about a year ago. I’ve been meaning to get along for their £10 steak night on a Thursday but still haven’t managed it yet! We went last night with a couple of friends we don’t see enough(there’s a theme emerging here). The restaurant is well placed for people watching over Mansfield Park(particularly when there’s bike polo on, sadly they weren’t there last night). It’s always really clean and inviting inside, tables are placed a good distance apart so you aren’t chatting to your neighbour and they have good tunes. I’d already checked out what I was having during the day — thai broth with rice noodles and then the steak. I can’t go past their steaks, I rate them up there with Butchershop and The Grill Room. Two courses is £13.95, and the steak has a £6 supplement which I think is still a really reasonable price. Everything is marked as dairy, gluten or vegetarian and the staff really know their stuff about what goes into everything if you have any extra questions. I loved both my starter and main, and we then decided to go for dessert too. I don’t often have dessert but I wanted to see this sticky toffee pudding that’s so famous(it has it’s own Facebook fan page). I got mine with lactofree ice cream which meant I could indulge to my hearts content, and now I see why the pudding has a fan page, it’s delicious. I recommend not trying to share it between two as it’ll probably make you a bit grumpy. One of our dining companions went for the mexican salmon with mini cheesy baked potatoes — this dish looked seriously awesome and he said it was really good. I hope that’s still on the menu next time I return!

I’ve always passed this place and have always wanted to try out. After several procrastinations I finally booked a table and I can only give the place an amazing 5 stars! The ambience is perfect. A nice blend of chairs and boothed areas.(The booth areas easily seat a teable for 6!). The menu is exceptional! All local produce and served in very appropriate portions for starters, mains and desserts in a very appealing way — often many West End restaunts get this portion size wrong — but not at PETERS. The flavours come out very well in the food. They have a 2 course or 3 course option. I of course tried the 3 courses. To cap off the meal I had the home made«Scottish» sticky toffee pudding and an expresso with one of the best tablets I’ve EVER had — even better than my own! The 2 folks that run the restaurant are wonderful, witty and delightful! It makes a huge difference to a really nice meal out when you have a fantastic combination of outstanding food, nice wine, great company and amazing hosts. Give PETERS a try! It’s unpretencious, good wholesome Scottish fare that tastes amazing. Well done PETERS West End in getting the right unique blend for a good meal out!

Whilst I’m a big fan of eating out, living in Partick almost always means a round trip in a taxi to get a decent meal, so Peter’s on Hyndland St, just round the corner, was quite the find! In with family, we enjoyed a light, friendly atmosphere(nothing pretentious about this place!) attractive, modern décor and ate in a spacious, cozy leather booth close to the bar. Considering our proximity to the bar and kitchen, there were few crashes and bangs from the staff and the service was nothing short of fantastic. Food-wise this place is a tad on the pricey side if you’re eating a la carte, but I see they do a very reasonable pre-theatre menu at £10.95 for two courses. And, unlike in many restaurants, I hear the pre-theatre food is of the same high standard as the a la catre. A few of us had a fantastic sea bass dish, with a pesto skin in a parmesan, pesto and pancetta sauce which complimented the fish surprisingly wonderfully. Some of our party instead opted for the ‘surf and turf’; fillet steak, prawns and mash. Bog standard, yet beautifully done. The wine list is varied and although I was initially put off by the house red, Hardy’s, it was really quite nice. If you’re willing to pay in the £15 to £20 range for a main, like seafood and are looking for a cozy and friendly night out, Peter’s is the place for you!

We deliberately came here in time for the two courses for £10.95, because it’s quite expensive in here otherwise. Peter’s specialises in seafood. As I’m not normally a seafood fan, I thought I’d give Peter’s a go since I’d heard good things about it. There are some unusual and original takes on classic dishes here and I decided on the sea bass with garlic butter. The fish was perfectly cooked wnd in quite a generous portion too. The problem with Peter’s is that it isn’t very exciting. The food is good, the décor is nice, the location is ok… there’s nothing to keep bringing me back here, despite the fact the chef clearly know’s what he’s doing.
