Update time for Pinto as it’s recently been taken over by the Barburrito(Manchester) group — I believe a rebrand is in the plans. For now, I’m here to tell you what’s changed while it’s still called Pinto. Well, obviously it’s not a great start because I’m dropping the score by a star. There’s two main reasons — firstly, the pulled pork seems to be incredibly bland, and barely gave the burrito any flavour whatsoever. I am actually really close to making this a 3-star review, that’s how bland it was. Second reason for the drop in rating is that even though the staff serving me were lovely, the guy who took my cash had gloves on, handled my £20 note, gave me change and then went on to make the next person’s burrito with the same gloves on. I mean, really? That’s just not ok in my books! I used to get Pinto all.the.freaking.time — always the same order and I was always happy because I found them really consistent and delicious. Yesterday I did vary from my usual bare burrito order because I was getting food take away, so I got a pulled pork burrito. Like I said above, the pork was bland and didn’t have the usual chili kick I’d come to expect. The rest of the fillings were fine, generous and good but without the flavour of the pork it was overall a kind of bland experience. That being said, I am such a long-time lover of Pinto that I’m prepared to give them another shot. The beef looked really good so maybe I’ll try that next time. I won’t lie though, I was really sad after yesterday’s burrito though!

Great for good quick food and with the meal deal of 2 beers and a buritto you can’t go wrong,

Love Pintos. Great mexican food… always served quickly and every time it is consistently delicious. Would recommend for a quick lunch or dinner. If you love spicy food you won’t be left dissapointed.

I love a good burrito. I love a good quesadilla. I love a good fajita. I might have a bit of a thing for Tex Mex. So, having left lunch considerable too late yesterday, and being correspondingly starving, I was very keen to try this place out. It’s a suprisingly big restaurant — I had assumed it was just on one floor but they have space upstairs and downstairs. I would guess that even large groups wouldn’t have trouble getting a seat here unless they had a sudden rush of customers. I opted for the pulled pork burrito with black beans, cheese, sour cream and medium salsa. I was delighted that they give you two different bean options — not nearly enough places pay respect to the black bean and it’s a mistake because it’s wonderful. I was also pleased that they didn’t assume I’d want a pile of jalapenos in my lunch(I like spicy food but jalapeño peppers taste just awful imo). The burrito was a decent size and very tasty. I would probably have opted for just a tiny bit more cheese but otherwise it was exactly what I wanted. I’ll definitely be back to try the other options on their menu — not least the margaritas which look like they would go down very well indeed.

Popped in to grab a quick takeaway for my lunch after hearing countless recommendations for Pinto. Seemed to time it perfectly as was served straight away despite it being peak lunch time, though a queue was forming by the time I left. Having never been to Pinto before I was a bit unsure of what to order but the menu behind the counter provided the basic information needed and the staff were really great too. I decided to go for a pulled pork quesedilla with pico de gallo, cheese and sour cream which cost me just over a fiver. Was a tad disappointed to find that sour cream cost extra but that’s mostly because I can’t get enough of the stuff! The food was really fantastic quality and jam packed with flavour. I think they could do with a bit more of an explanation as to what everything is for customers who may not have much of a knowledge base when it comes to Mexican food. As I was taking away I didn’t get a chance to experience the seating area but everything seemed clean and the selection was relatively well stocked — the only thing unavailable that I would have liked was the fresh lemonade. I’ll definitely visit again, I’d love to sit in to get the whole experience and hopefully manage to get some of their fresh lemonade next time!

After me being a cheapo, going for the £7 deal for the chicken bourito, I discovered for 15p more I could change it to another meat. I went for a pulled pork this time. Nice, but my bourito was not as big as the queen street make it. I forgot to ask them to add salt, my fault. Still tasted great though. I think the Chicken is better though. I had to try here as I’ve tried their other 2 places. This one also has seating outside, that I think is crazy based on it’s location, as it’s next to the busy bus stop that takes you to the west end near Byrnes road. From a business view, it’s clever, as loads of students get the bus here. Not to mention office staff, esp from Bothwell street, and Central station a stone throw away. Is it worth a visit? You bet your bourito it is It took them around 45 seconds for them to make mine. So if you are hungry, you’ll be eating, minutes of walking through the door.

This American was happy to find something akin to Chipotle in the US — a Subway-style counter where you choose-your-own Mexican food adventure! I had the pulled pork tacos(hard shells are gluten-free) — when I got to the register, they had a deal for two margaritas and a main for a tenner, so I went for it.(Couldn’t talk my dining companion into a margarita, but they were pretty weak so it worked out!) I liked the variety of salsas on offer, though I wish they didn’t charge extra for guacamole! Overall it was a pretty good, quick and affordable meal — I’ll be back!

Everyone will agree with me when I say that keeping a burrito together when eating is the hardest thing to do. not at Pinto! I had the shredded pork burrito with all the spicy and wonderful trimmings, and it was just a tasty explosion in my mouth! This place was just what we were looking for, filled up on burritos and tacos and the choice of having beer excited me even more. Loved the staff and feel of this quirky Mexican delight.

Oh Pinto, you never judge. No matter how often I turn up looking raggedy, a bare burrito is all it takes to make the world a little less rough place to be. The salsa is always nice and zingy, and it’s so far the closest thing I’ve been able to find to the American chain Chipotle. It’s also my default takeaway order when I feel like deluding myself into getting a «healthier» takeaway(a bare burrito is a low carb option… right?), and it’s always a nice speedy lunch option when going through town.

First visit to this venue, but not my first burrito rodeo from the chain of awesomeness that is Pinto. The food is of the usual insanely high standard you’d expect from the best Mexican food people in Glasgow — yeah, I said it; prove me wrong, Glasgow! — and the venue itself is really snazzy. I was served in no time at all by a man clearly very happy with his lot in life, or maybe he’d just won something on the lottery, I just don’t have access to that information, I’m sorry. I ordered a burrito, with pulled pork, pinto beans, rice, cheese, sour cream and jalapenos, with a can of coke to chase it down with. The whole burrito folding and rolling exercise never fails to amaze me, especially when I try it at home and end up wearing most of it… With food bought and paid for, I heading for a seat. Plenty of comfortable seating upstairs, with a view of the world going by as well — and a lot of room on the ground floor to sit or stand at the window and do the same. There was seating and toilets downstairs, but on this occasion, I had no need to visit the facilities. Of all the Pintos in all the world(well, Glasgow anyway) I think this is my favourite. Remember to pick up your loyalty card and get it stamped — I’m collecting stamps like a demon in the hope getting the best kind of burrito… a free one.

WOAH. Holy mother of burrito, words fail to describe the foodgasm that ensued upon eating at Pinto. I went for the chicken burrito and being a total novice to Pinto, staff couldn’t have been better in helping me with those crucial decisions. ‘Which salsa should I go for?’ and ‘Guac or no guac?’ are definitely some of life’s biggest questions. There’s little more to say than eating at Pinto was simple and fast and that any and all hype is well-deserved. Staff were great, you get a lot for your pennies, and the food was all kinds of ‘mmm.’ I really can’t complain. Other than the fact that I want another and another and another.

This place is AWESOME! This is the latest addition to the Pinto restaurant family it opened a few weeks ago on the street where I work. I’m a massive fan of Pinto and I can see this being a regular lunchtime haunt. The food is great value, all made with fresh ingredients, and customised they way you want it; a far better choice than nipping along to Greggs for something vaguely meat-like wrapped in pastry. For me the choice is always between the beef or pulled pork burrito, with the only remaining question being how spicy do I fancy it today — IMHO, chicken doesn’t work in burritos, but maybe that’s just me. This new venue is pretty chilled out and much larger than the Gordon St branch, although it does get very busy around lunchtime — but this is what Pinto are set up for, so the queue moves quickly so don’t be put off if it looks busy. The service is slick and friendly with stylish décor and a relaxed atmosphere. I love Pinto, if you haven’t been yet, then go give it a try this week.

I started this review before the actual opening, which seems a bit unfair until you realise I’m one of the people who is waiting outside on opening day to get one of the free 1000 burritos they’re giving away to celebrate opening. Sadly, I didn’t mark it early enough to be one of the first 5(the first gets a month of free burritos, and the next 4 each get a week’s worth). I did end up with 5 free burritos, plus the promo from the first 1000, but I love this place even when I pay. The opening was advertised heavily online, and is a testament to how social media savvy Pinto is. I’ve been a fan of Pinto for awhile and was happy to see them open another location. The style of burrito they sell is a common food in the US, but only seems to be a new thing here. It’s hard to know what to say that doesn’t also apply to the other locations. The ingredients, as usual, are fresh. I find both their pulled pork and barbacoa beef to be delicious, but am not so much a fan of the chicken or steak(the needs to be cooked to order so it’s medium rare). Their habenero salsa is delicious but not so hot as to be unbearable. I highly recommend the lemonade, although the cup is a bit small for my tastes. This location feels more open than either their first shop on Queen Street or their second on Gordon Street. It doesn’t seem to have the breakfast menu(that still seems exclusive to Gordon Street).
