Homely wee pub on Dumbarton road. They’re really into the Halloween theme this weekend. Great décor and all bar staff dressed up. Great atmosphere.

Loud music, REALLY bad karaōke, drunks. If this appeals then you still won’t like it. Steamers only.

The Quarter Gill had always seemed one of the West End’s least likely pubs to succumb to gentrification. Indeed, once upon a time, it would have been unthinkable to offer seating outside here. This was Partick not Paris, and people don’t particularly want to watch dogs defecating in a broken-glass littered, over-grown park while they’re out for a quiet pint. However, since coming under new ownership this place has advanced admirably and now stands as arguably the most aesthetically-pleased in its stretch of Dumbarton Road. Coupled with the huge improvements to Mansfield Park, the introduction of French doors and outdoor seating has resulted in the Gill establishing itself as one of the most pleasant areas to sit when the weather allows. Changed days indeed. The pub still caters for its long-serving customers, who tend to be much older, by keeping prices extremely reasonable while weekend nights continue attract a fairly raucous following, particularly for the Saturday karaōke.
