I hired this location out for a get together after a funeral, I have to say, I was blown away. The staff could not have been more helpful and the prices were excellent. I had money behind the bar and it didn’t run out. It’s recently been refurbished and whilst I don’t go here regularly(I live a long way from Maryhill) I know that people may be looking for a place for functions, I’d recommend it.

I suppose this pub could be considered our«local», as it is the nearest pub to where we live, but it’s far down on the list when I think of places to go out for a pint. Still, I average 3 – 5 pints a year in this pub and I suppose that makes me more of a regular than most, as nobody else has reviewed the Ram’s Head here yet. It’s right across the street from«First and Last,» which is technically our closer pub, but looks far too uninviting for us to wander in for a pint. The Ram’s Head is just a tiny bit less scary, so that’s the one we frequent. The Ram’s Head is a real neighbourhood pub where everybody pretty much keeps to themselves, their friends and their conversations. I wouldn’t consider it lively, though they do have open mic sometimes on a Friday. It’s the pub we go to when we’re too lazy to go anywhere else, and it’s not much more to us. The best thing about this place is that there is an actual ram’s head mounted on the rafters, so it’s not just a clever name.
