This is an excellent place to get your hair done. The staff are really friendly and welcoming the minute you walk in till the minute you are leaving and made me feel comfortable throughout. I loved my hair, it felt and looked amazing. I would recommened this place to family and friends.

Still clinging onto my student status as a PhD student, I had a swatch at the new Snapfax for any good hairdressing deals and settled on this place. First impression wasn’t great after waiting a good ten minutes or so before being seen then another good wait after having my hair washed to actually getting it cut. Long enough that more water was applied in a skooshy bottle. Never ever had water sprayed on my hair in a salon, only barbers. Pleasant enough experience from there on in, with a satisfied haircut at a good price. My main grumble, and this is my problem, is the volume. The phone was the loudest phone I’ve ever heard to the point where I jumped and they had chart music blaring from a few different sources that had slight delays which was quite unsettling. I tend to bundle a good chill out relaxing session into my hairdressing experiences, where I like nice quiet laidback chat but this was more like the sort of experience I imagine the ladies have in their flats before they go clubbing having a drink, listening to music and fixing their hair. Something like that.

Since visiting another hairdresser and having my hair dyed again, I have discovered that the pain I endured in Sculptur was NOT a sensitivity of my own, and was in fact the complete fault of theres and the error of the girl dying my hair, who either left the dye on too long, or –as I suspect — used highlights dye directly on my scalp, as my friend was having highlights done too and that, I imagine, is where the mix up occured. The difference in the quality of my hair in the section of roots done at Sculptur to that of the rest of my hair is highly noticable, and is clearly damaged. While I understand that mistakes are made, and I’m sure the young girl who made the mistake was mortified,(I did see a more senior stylist telling off the girl who dyed my hair, but it only clicked later what exactly about) but I am somewhat angered by their masking of the mistake and lack of honesty — and their subsequent cheek in still charging me for putting me through such pain(honestly, it was like nothing on earth!). While I’m sure they’ve given great service to hundreds, any business founded on covering errors rather than admitting to them will be one I avoid.

A few of my friends had said that this place was worth going to, so I decided«what they hey, I might aswell.» — it was included in the snap fax deal anyway. I booked an early appointment as I was busier later in the day, so I headed over for 9am, and was greeted by a somewhat tired girl. Uhuh. So the girl yawned her way through explaining telling me who was cutting my hair after asking me «what do you want done again?». The girl who then cut my hair spent the hour moaning about her boyfriend, sorry, ex-boyfriend, who had recently departed, leaving her with a flat to pay double rent on, a fish she didn’t love(nor could stand) and a matching his’n’hers towel set she just«didn’t know what to do with». Lovely chat. She would briefly pause to ask how she could cut my hair(I was quite terrified as she brandished the scissors around angrily) and then continue hacking my hair. Luckily though, this girl must’ve been pretty good at her job as the end results were pretty decent(and for a mere £15 I couldn’t complain). Although, my one teeny-tiny criticism. My fringe. Seriously? She literally took a chunk of hair, lobbed a few inches off and told me it was a fringe. Nah nah, it wasn’t a fringe, it was just terrible, although, after I pointed out that I wasn’t a fan, she sortof tidied it up a bit. It passed, I payed, I left. Athankyou.
