well I was in here a year ago and it was ok but now it’s a load of crap. Computers with Windows xp really, the internet connection speed was very slow see my pictures, my own streaming data is faster. £1.80 for caramel cake come on. It feels a bit shit and wouldn’t come back

I had not been here since it was refurbished but used to find that it was an ok place. The refurbishment looks nice but I found today that the service has gone downhill. I was amazed that a latte took over 20 minutes to make! The manager and another member of staff checked stock in the fridge and wandered around aimlessly instead of helping behind the counter. It wasn’t even very busy. The table that we sat at had the previous customers finished items on it and these were still there 45 minutes later when we got up to leave. I wish that the quality of coffee had been worth the wait but sadly not. There are plenty of cafes around this area that are far better in both service and products.

So an update and this place loses a star. I read over my last review and I’ve still got the same issue, it takes way too long to get hot drinks. I know what time I ordered our two drinks(a flat white and a hot chocolate) as I checked in on Unilocal at the till when ordering — and we waited 20 minutes for them. Far too long when it wasn’t very busy in the café and there were two members of staff working. One was the manager but it appeared that it was more important for him to stock the fridge with sandwiches(at 4.10pm) than serve customers or indeed clear away our table from the last people who used it. When I ordered I showed the check in deal on Unilocal and said that it was for 10% off, the man serving me said he didn’t think they did anything with Unilocal and said he check with the manager. The manager was standing behind him and agreed that nope no discount. I’ve definitely used the discount before but if the business has decided not to honour it then this probably needs to be removed from their page. I did enjoy my peppermint hot chocolate when it finally arrived but I’m not sure I’ll be back when there are so many other great places near by.

I really dig this place. I’ve been here twice and remain to be pleasantly surprised. The coffee tastes great, this time I got a cappuccino with coconut milk and it is delicious. Last time I had some soup and it hit the spot. It was a lentil and chickpea soup. The sandwiches also look good and the staff is very friendly. I recommend if you’re in the area.

About 4 years ago I used to study in this iCafe all the time — it was my go to hide away where I could get work done and no one would bother me. Free WiFi, good coffee, good food, plenty of space, light and bright. It was the perfect work space for when my flat or the library just weren’t doing it. This is the first time I’ve returned to this iCafe branch since then. They’ve spruced it up a bit and have moved some things around and I was very excited to see that they’re now selling ice cream. However, today being a bit chilly, I decided to give it a miss. I ordered a coffee and a sandwich, remembering that iCafe has more interesting sandwiches than are usually offered by cafes such as this. They do lots of wonderful things with chicken(including the peanut chilli chicken baguette I ordered) and a fair few veggie options. I settled down to work while I waited for my food. Now, I’d say that the iCafe’s unique selling point was its focus on being a great place to work due to its connectivity. The WiFi is always free and they have several desktops you can pay to use. They actively encourage people to come here to work or to browse the web. I also recognise that my laptop(Samsung, Windows 7, for my sins) can be a bit awkward when it comes to connecting to certain WiFi networks. I’m fairly tech savvy, though, so if it’s something wrong with the laptop I can usually sort it out. If I can’t, then the next thing to check is whether I can connect with me phone, or with my Kindle. If three different devices with three different operating systems can’t connect, then there’s a chance that it isn’t just a problem with my awkward laptop. So when I mentioned I was having connection issues, and the staff member came to see what was up and couldn’t figure it out and said he’d «go see if there was anything he could do» I was quite surprised that he never came back. If you’ve got free WiFi but it’s down, that’s fine, just say so. If you’ve got free WiFi but it doesn’t play well with anything but Mac OS, whatever, that’s kind of annoying and weird but just say so. If you’ve got free WiFi and it’s working, and it’s your business’s USP, and a customer can’t connect, then you should at least be prepared with a few routine suggestions for fixes. What you shouldn’t do is offer to help and then wander off, because if you do that I’ll knock points off for not providing what you promise and I’ll knock more points off for bad customer service. Now in the past all my interactions with the staff have been extremely positive, so maybe this guy was new, or maybe he was having an off day. Who knows? My coffee was perfect and my sandwich was delicious and, even without internet access it’s still a nice place to work — so I will be back to give it another chance. However, until I’ve seen evidence of this improving I can’t possibly give my old favourite 5 stars, so it’ll have to settle for 3. Sorry, iCafe, up your game and then we’ll talk.

Best iCafe in town, that serves a delicious cappuccino(even though I am more of a black coffee type of gal myself, I have to admit it was pretty damn good!!!). The staff is very nice and I appreciate that they make your coffee with that little bit of love and patience it deerves. Pancakes are really good as well!

I just love iCafes in Glasgow. Mainly because they are open late, for the free wifi, and because staff is lovely every time, and in all three locations. I like their coffees and specialty teas(try the Apple loves mint). I’ve had a few cakes and they are great as well. Never tried the savory food though, but I suspect it to be very good too. Swing by their shop on Woodlands, Great Western or Sauchiehall street, you won’t be disappointed!

I really like this Icafe. It’s a great concept to have a nice café attached to a computer area. The computers are in the annex area and so they are tucked away, which is good if you want a bit of peace. We have used the printing service in the past when ours is being unreliable and it’s all very easy to do. There is a huge variety of sandwich fillings out with the norm eg Brixton chicken, falafel etc. my experience of the soup is its nice. Had some of the organic banana cake this time which was nice and moist with a yummy marscapone icing. Everything has a «home made» feel. Staff are always chirpy.

I like this café and want to like it a lot more. But there are a few niggles for me. I’ll start with the good… I LOVE repeat LOVE Suki teas. They are delicious and addictive because they taste so blooming marvellous, so when I first came here I was thrilled to see that there was a full compliment available. I also quite enjoyed my panini and for a late night snack. Extra points because they are open late in the evening and when I don’t finish uni until 8pm its nice to be able to go to a café not a pub for a chat with a pal. Inside it is clean and tidy, annnd if I want to pretend to be important on my netbook there is WIFI too. Great! For me the niggle was that the first time we went in it seemed that the staff didn’t really know what they were doing or what the contents of their menu was. We queried the fruit smoothies and that was met with blank looks from the staff, we swapped to tea which took ages to arrive… Other times they have just seemed a bit off with us or tried to give us change for a twenty in 20p pieces… BUT these are just minor things, and hey I’m a forgiving kinda gal so it won’t stop me going there. Maybe next time I’ll give more stars. Go onnnnn make my day!

iCafe is bringing the early noughties trend of net café’s back. Remember Easy Internet Café? You hardly ever see those kind of communes anymore. This place doesn’t mimic the distinctly 90s trend of old, but brings the concept of surfing over coffee well into the hip barista culture of the now. Complete with plush furniture and a variety of deli foods, iCafe plays into the huge market of swanky coffee drinkers by designing their outlets in a comtemporary fashion. It’s very handy if you have internet problems at home and, shock horror, are in the minority who don’t have a laptop. Yes, many people don’t so wifi doesn’t always cut it(although I do appreciate that it’s free). But being caught short on numerous occasions, I am relieved there is still somewhere exists that host computers. However, I wasn’t impressed that after spending a fiver on food, I had to spend a silly amount of money(about 3 pounds ish) for an hour on their machines. It wasn’t a selling point for me, and is actually the only reason I’m scoring them down. Boxes that iCafe ticked — cute, friendly staff, nice surroundings, spacious, Oreo latte’s(!), ever changing specials on the menu and fresh food. The only boxes left open are price. Which makes me feel pernickety, but if you’re a paying customer you should at least get some perks on the PCs. Maybe in the future, if the company take off!

icafe I am a fan. I do love a place with all the attributes that written down on paper make it a perfect stop off. I just wish I had more time to sit and read the paper or browse the internet on my laptop through their free wifi. I longingly look in the window at people who have free time and wish it was me, unfortunately I am one of those people that runs in and runs out with a nice herbal tea. But nothing beats sitting in the icafe just a few streets down from the main road, skipping threw websites or getting some coursework done in a place that is not the library! To do this while eating cake is just luxury. This icafe doen’t offer a built in video shop or the bustle of its sister on Great Western Road, but it is what it says on the tin, ‘cofee, food, and internet’

It’s quite good to see an internet café, I suppose. There’s hardly any of them left except that horrible one on St Vincent St, but even considering theat they’ve found a gap in the market, the cheap sterile décor and humdrum food and drink on offer didn’t really warm me to this place. There’s free Wifi as well, for prople who want to pretend they have to urgently check their e-mails, but are really just looking for an excuse to show off their MacBook.

Is this the birth of an empire we see before us? Will this be the start of a worldwide attack on the cofffee/internet type place? Do we really care? No probably not, but this is an interesting development in the iCafe story. This great big hulking icafe is pretty brand spanking new and really does look the dogs dangly bits. With great big olé«people watching«windows, plenty of seating(tables and sitty up chairs or big comfy couches, which are you?), enough hot liquids to caffeine your self stupid, cakes and snacky type things galore, and the all important Internet connection, both PC’s and Wifi(my favourite), this is a crackin’ big joint. Ok so it ain’t got the cutesy appeal of other places around here, but sometimes when your just looking for somewhere to sit, drink and write, the aesthetic value of the place is not that important. However, on reflection, maybe I’m doing a disservice to the icafe, or certainly this incarnation of the brand. For one its 10 times more inviting than the cramped«I’m a video shop/coffee bar/internet café» version on GRW. And the interior looks far more clean cut and inviting. Yeah, so in-fact sorry iCafe, this place is nice. Maybe its just the newness which is putting me off slightly, however I’m sure that once the student types get back into full swing it’ll loose that look! and its certainly not something to stop me coming back again. iCafe, its going to cause alot of problems for others of its ilk in the area and could well be the best of its kind in this vicinity. A definite two thumbs up from me.

Really nice little place. Chilled out atmosphere. Great food(especially the nachos). A good place to hang out during the weekend. Would visit more often if I stayed in the area. Prefer this one to the on Great Western Road. Good hot chocolate too!
