Such a lovely place– a little treasure trove of goodies for all budgets. I was in here today shopping for the Shelter Social Media Santa event and wasn’t quite sure what I would buy, in the end I spent ages browsing and got a nice gift(and another for a friend’s wee one) but it was hard to choose as there were so many beautiful things. I smiled so many times whilst looking around as I found little pocket money toys which I used to have when I was little and was pleasantly surprised to see are still made… fortune fish, ‘spy pens’ with invisible ink, Fuzzy Felt, periscopes and kaleidoscopes and paper cut outs with the little tabs which use to be for scrapbook collages. Brilliant stuff. if you’re buying for kids go here!

Proper old style toy shop. I love spending time looking around this place. Bonus points for having Moomins as well

I can’t believe this shop is still here — it’s been around since at least the 1980’s and it’s survival can only be down to the fact that it’s consistently been a really fantastic shop to visit. It’s great if you’re looking for really special, old-fashioned toys. It has everything you will remember from your childhood(if you’re as old as me) — scraps, dressing up dolls, knitting dollies, fuzzy felts, pop guns — I walked round the whole shop going, «Oh, I used to have that!». They have everything from smaller items — stickers, pencils, colouring books — right up to fantastic vintage style pedal cars that will set you back over £100. Great for little kids with pocket money and big kids with presents to buy!

Such a adorable space. I love all the kitschy toys and the super wooden things they sell too. It felt like something out of a movie and so worth a peek.

What a lovely toy shop this is! I’ve never been concerned with buying presents for wee ones until my gorgeous nephew came along, and now all I ever seem to shop for is presents for him(separation anxiety must be to blame!). I popped into Sentry Box to get him a Christmas present as well as one for #socialmediasanta(if you don’t know what I’m talking about, you haven’t been paying attention to the Unilocal talk threads!). There is such a huge range of toys here it could be really hard to make a decision! And there is a good range of stuff as well for different ages, from babies to older kids. I settled on a wooden car toy set and thankfully was able to get two, one for my nephew and one for charity. Prices were really reasonable and I have a new location for picking up birthday presents!

This is a great independent little toyshop full of traditional toys such as wooden spinning tops, yo-yos and crafted dollhouses as well as a selection of more modern toys. Small, everything is perfectly displayed to transform this cubbyhole into a giant toybox. Great for picking up an unusual gift although it is pricier than other shops in the same vein. My face lit up most when I saw the hoola hoops when exiting. I never was very good at them but the hours and hours of fun I spent trying all those years ago came flooding back. I want one.
