It’s sad this pop up place is only here for a limited time. It’s has a cool & laid back atmosphere about it and I would certainly go back if it was to to stay open. It’s a big space with lots of light coming in, cool art on the walls and a mish mash of different furniture. It sort of reminds me of the type of bar you would stumble upon in Barcelona or Berlin, but not usually Glasgow. They were doing looking lovely food, which I sadly did not not try, but I did have a prosecco and gin cocktail. Which was exceptionally good and massive. It somewhat set the tone for me for the rest of the night. It closes today, so get down there and have a look. Just take the lift and avoid climbing the million stairs. I wish we had!

Absolutely gutted that Sub Hub only lasted a month and I happen to only visit it on the last day! If I knew it wasn’t permanent, I would’ve been there every single day! I loved the space they made. It’s large, bright and laid back. The staff were saying that the space is usually rented out for events and stuff. I think they did an awesome job of making it their own little chill out space for the month(especially with the fat boy bean bags!). The music they were playing was awesome too! So relaxing and chilled out! Ahhh really wish they stayed there permanently! The partner and I had some Dear Green Coffee which, without a doubt, was delicious. What better than to chill out with a caffe latte and cappuccino right? Also, the smoking terrace is awesome! What a nice and different view of Glasgow! I’m always happy to see my(second) home from a different perspective. Wish Sub Hub remained in this space cause I would’ve definitely been a regular!

What a fab space! What a shame it’s only open for a few more days but I’m glad we managed to get along. Unfortunately we didn’t get up to the rooftop terrace as it was closed… but that’s because Jazzy Jeff was appearing so we got to hear an hour long interview with someone who is LEGEN… wait for it… I really liked the laid-back vibe, the white walls, Sub Club posters and DJ playing some nice chilled out soul, funk and hip-hop, it felt both very hipster trendy and very ‘festival’ all at the same time. As it’s a temporary space I wasn’t expecting the bar to quite so well stocked and, whilst it is a little limited, there is something for everyone for sure. Add in some awesome toasted sammiches by Devils Deli — the Hell’s Belly was delish, and Dear Green on coffee duty, it’s got everything you’d need! I really REALLY hope the Sub Club do something to continue this, even if they have to move, for me it hit the right notes for a nice chilled evening. Ohhh yeah … DARY!

For some reason, until last night, the existence of this little pop-up bar had completely evaded my consciousness. And I’m now absolutely gutted about that. Turning into the lane by the Argyll arcade, up 6 floors in a tiny lift, you’re transported into a lovely open space, colourfully filled with tables and chairs too shabby to even be shabby chic. Yet somehow, the space feels cosy. Sub Club have taken over this space for the duration of April(it actualls closes down on the 26th — so go quickly if you haven’t already!) as a café bar space. Not only did I have a lovely raspberry gin & prosecco cocktail for £5(seriously yum!), but then I was also treated to a Cubanos sandwich — jam packed with roasted ham & pork, mustard, swiss cheese and pickles. The sandwich was huge, a great portion for the price, and a beautiful balance of flavours. I’m dreaming of having this again. On top of that, DJ Jazzy Jeff was in the house doing a Q&A which was an unexpected little surprise. If this was a permanent fixture, then I would undoubtedly be back.

Apparently, this is a temporary space, which is a real shame as it’s fantastic, and is definitely a superb addition to the city centre. The main space is a lovely loft space on the 6th floor of the Argyll Arcade(big tip, take the lift, as the stairs are a killer!) and it’s a cracking space; nice and bright and with a great feeling of space, you certainly don’t feel as if you’re cramped in. There’s always a DJ on and during the day the tunes are relaxing, and don’t make it feel too clubby. There are loads of old Sub Club posters on the wall, which look really good when stuck in a frame! The food is by Devil’s Deli(I had a cubano sandwich — really good, and would definitely make me want to try their main deli) and No Way Back, and the coffee is by Dear Green Place. The hidden gem to this place is the smoking terrace, which is up a wee flight of stairs. The view up Buchanan Street and over to George Square is amazing, and is definitely one of the best views of the city you can get. You’ve got until the end of the month — go!

This is just an amazing addition to Glasgow and I’m a little bit heart-broken it’s only here for April. Sub Hub surely takes the cake for most unusual location — enter through Argyll Arcade(yes, where you normally only go for engagement ring shopping), take the lift to level 6 and there you’ll be transported to a big, bright room overlooking Buchanan Street, decorated with edgy art with a DJ spinning tunes. And this was on a Wednesday afternoon. The food is by Devil’s Deli and No Way Back, coffee by Dear Green and some delicious sounding drink options too. I’ve been twice now — the first time I was too shell-shocked to really take the place in but I returned on Friday afternoon for another visit. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, and even if it has a bit of a hipster vibe it isn’t alienating at all. There was a DJ playing tunes both times and it gave the place a good vibe with people just sitting around and chilling out. It’s only here this April so be sure to get along and check it out. Their Facebook page tells me it’s open Thursday — Sunday from around midday to midnight.
