Stopped by Giraffe for breakfast during a 4 hour layover in LHR. The décor is really neat for an airport restaurant. Wait time can be long, but that’s usually a good thing. The breakfast consists of both traditional English plates and western breakfast plates, along with freshly made fruit/veggie juices. The hostess can be inattentive as some reviews point out, but our waitress took very good care of us.

Catching my flight to NYC decided to stop here for lunch and a drink. Got seated and asked for a drinks menu, the waitress was like«oh its in the menu» pointed to the beers and cider and I was like no, i can see people drinking cocktails, she just walked off in a huff! Rude much!!! I then asked for a different waitress to be serving us, didn’t want her spitting in my food! Managed to find a cocktails menu, yeh they’re ok, decent priced, nothing special, pretty much standard, this is giraffe after all. Their food menu is pretty vast, but as I was travelling on a plane for 7⁄8 hours, I needed something light, opted for the Chicken, Spiced King Prawn & Mango Salad — grilled spiced prawns & chicken breast, mixed leaves, cucumber, radish, green onion, avocado, mango & chopped brazil nuts with tequila-lime dressing. So yum, refreshing, tangy, perfectly cooked slices of chicken and the prawns drenched in the tequila lime dressing, went well with my frozen magarita. Would recommend to anyone wanting a quick, simple meal. Don’t count too much on the service though.

Amazingly fresh and delicious food! Service was great as well! Open seating at the bar so you don’t have to wait in line(was a long line, that’s how you know it’s good!)

Service was fast at rush hour breakfast time. As an American the pancakes were not good. Bit the smoothies are a basic go to. Fried eggs are served sun you side up(not my preference) and we’re cooked perfectly.

It’s been a while since I’ve visited a Girafe resto, used to go maybe three times a year. Based on my experience just now don’t, at least not at Terminal 5. Maybe it’s Tesco ownership but the burger was overcooked and dry. Fries were half cooked and had fluff on them. Staff were friendly but rushing to the next order. I guess they can get away with this at Heathrow but I won’t go back either at the airport or elsewhere.

I absolutely loved this place. After dealing with the torture of making a connection in Heathrow(why is it so hard to do here!) Giraffe is an oasis where you can happily recover. Their menu is a diverse collection of western food, but seems to lean somewhat toward American Southwest. I had an excellent Huevos Rancheros, and they also made me a great latte. These combined with the free wifi made this a wonderful place to spend some layover time before I had to run off to my next flight. The menu also includes a whole set of smoothies and great snack options if you aren’t quite in the mood for a full meal. The service was quick and very attentive, even though they were absolutely overrun when I was there! Another great thing about this place is the view. Ask to be seated by the windows and you will get a spectacular view of the action out on the tarmac.

For airport food not a bad place, especially with all day breakfast /brunch menu. I can very much recommend the Mexican breakfast, it was the big winner in our group. They also have a full bar and good milkshake selection. Price range is also very reasonable for airport. Coffee I don’t try so flat white scale not available at the mall moment. :)

First time in london just for connecting flight. Love the ginger blast smoohie. Tastes real and not just sugared up. If you need sugar hit, order something else. I ordered breakfast with fried sunny side up eggs, sausage and bacon. Swapped wedges for sweet potato fries. Delicious. Best airport meal I’ve had. Great vibe. Cheerful. I wasn’t too crazy about the sausage. Even the beans were good. Hubby ordered steAk medium. Not sure if it varies from ny vs London. It was bit too bloody. Had to send it back to cook more. He still enjoyed the food. There’s no steak knives because of airport. You use butter knife like utensil.

Second time here, Food still very good but it was ages before we were served and then when we asked for the bill, the waiter took ages to comeback and when he did he said he’d gone for break and forgotten. Appreciated the honesty but really??? We ended up running to the gate to catch our flight!!!

Well, it’s not the worst or most expensive meal I’ve had in Terminal 5, and the service was pretty good, but I had an absolutely miserable steak(read: leather) sandwich here the other day that made the good service and reasonable prices seem not as worth it. I took one bite of the sandwich and biting with all of the power my jaw could produce, absolutely could not get through the beef, instead it all wanted to slide out of the bun. I attempted cutting it with the provided cutlery, and I’m pretty sure that poor knife is the worse for wear after the experience. After about 15 minutes, a sore jaw, and a good chunk of gristle later I decided I’d done all I could do, ate the provided chips, and called it a day. At least the iced tea was tasty and I didn’t break the bank. You’re probably better off with a burger or maybe an English breakfast than attempting to branch too far out on the menu.

Wanted some fish and chips during a layover at Heathrow. Someone suggested this place and they served it up perfect!

Uh. Food is ok considered being in the airport. They have a good amount of menu selection, especially for breakfast. This place is easy to get in and out if you are in between flights. Good service all around. My croque plate was a bit salty. Again my expectations was low, given the fact of where the place is located.

Liked everything about this place. Great location, quick service, friendly staff, solid food, and good prices. It was clean and quick and delicious, just how I like it in an airport. I had the California sushi rice salad with Salmon, lemonade with Mint and a side of sweet potato fries all for 17£. The only reason I wouldn’t go back is because there’s a Gordon Ramsey place I’d like to try, which is more expensive.

Located immediately after security, Giraffe Heathrow offers a great range of food and beverages appropriate to the time of day you are there. Service is warm and friendly and the food is always good, no matter what you order. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone travelling through Terminal Five. Well done to all staff members, seen and unseen!

I had breakfast here while transiting in Heathrow Airport Terminal 5. The service was prompt and friendly. The food was slightly higher than average, but nothing extraordinary. However, what I really liked was the fact that the staff were friendly and accommodating, and was smiling every time they interacted with customers. It’s very different from the typical Berlin restaurant experience. Not the best food, but the service more than suffices.

Giraffe is appropriately rated 4 stars with its no frills kinda uptempo restaurant concept located right in the heart of the London Heathrow airport. The service here is not too bad and the food is prepared rather promptly(15 minutes or less). Came here while waiting for a flight to Amsterdam, sat down, had the chicken club which tasted awesome and a pint of beer, which was cold and refreshing. Overall, a solid 4 stars for Giraffe and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good meal between flights… Pros– Location Meal Menu Beer Promptness Electrical connections at bar Price Cons– Not all that friendly

We missed our connection at Heathrow and had a few hours to kill. Hungry and tired, we headed to Giraffe, which used to be an establishment I frequented back in the days when I worked in London. They obliged us by seating us at a corner away from the noisy crowd, and we sank our weary jet-lagged bodies into our booth! Perhaps it was because we were tucked away in a corner, perhaps it was because they were so busy, either way it took a good twenty minutes before someone stopped by to take our order. But the atmosphere at this restaurant is so airy, fun and cheerful, I had no trouble entertaining our two girls, especially once they discovered the area with the three tall giraffes! And I must compliment the staff and patrons for their tolerance as my littlest one ran around exploring and adjusting to a strange new place, bumping into quite a few people and tables in the process. When our server — Joanna — finally showed up, she more than made up for the delay through her charm and attentiveness. And yes, our extensive order arrived within the«guaranteed» fifteen minutes. The quality of the food, I must confess, was inconsistent. My Croque Giraffe(with fried egg) was outstanding, and the smoked salmon that I ordered with my scrambled eggs was tender and moist. Cappuccinos were good, and we enjoyed the Orchard Pig ciders we ordered. The rest of the meal, however, was just so-so. My daughter picked at her banana-berry pancakes and my wife found her focaccia dry and the scrambled eggs mediocre. Final Verdict: Great option for a family meal if you find yourself in Terminal 5, provided you order properly and have a lot of time to kill.

Eating here for our lunch was simply a comedy of errors, and left me hungry and keen to leave as soon as possible. I arrived and joined my group of Unilocal Community Manager travel-mates at a table for 5. A nice table with a good view but placed too close to the nearby tables so my seat would get jostled every now and then. I looked over the menu and ordered the scrambled eggs with salmon, and a bowl of sweet potato fries. There’d been a mix up with another order, and when my plate was delivered I suspected it was the mis-order from a good 10 – 15 minutes earlier. The eggs were rubbery and flavourless, to the point they were inedible. So I just ate the salmon(passable) and the sweet potato fries(fine). The staff seemed confused and bewildered — straightforward orders seemed like they were really challenging. I know it’s airport dining and that you can’t expect much, but on this occasion this was a real mess and I wouldn’t even contemplate returning to this location when I’m in T5.
