Lovely place Blakeney; November bleak but beautiful. If you can get a bit of decent weather, this is a great time to visit, no crush of people, quiet solitude, even around the fisherman cottage lined streets, a quaint huddle with the trademark cobblestone walls found in these parts. Sophisticated but welcoming eateries, the White Horse and the Moorings, the delicatessen up the high street and other attractions like the chandlers round the corner help while away the time nicely. Or trek out gently along the footpath to Cley-next-the-Sea across the embankment protecting the fresh water marshes, 3.5 miles of water, wind, sky and birds, fantastic. Poke around Cley and then catch the Coast Hopper bus back, every half hour in the morning and then hourly after 1 pm at this time of year. Of course, not to forget a trip out to sea to see t’seals on Blakeney Point, unmissable if you have the time and a large warm coat. Not a traditional fast paced sea side place, but a beautiful tranquil village to chill out and use as a base to explore other parts of the North Norfolk coast and even Norwich, which is only just over an hour away.
