When I used to live around the corner from here, Cup O Chino was my breakfast dive of choice! Cheap, inoffensive food, often served in large portons to make up for the general poor quality of the food: everyone needs a good breakfast/brunch dive, and Cup O Chino was mine. Sure, there’s plenty of issues here, the food being the main one, but it really isn’t as bad as it could be, and the location is excellent. Pop your head in next time you walk by, if you aren’t immediately repulsed, you’ll probably be alright! Cup O Chino is one of those old-school restaurants, offering various different dishes from a variety of different cuisines based on the chef’s knowledge and personal taste over his actual ability. Nothing is cooked amazingly, but the value for money is brilliant, with most meals being under a fiver and normally being overstacked with food: the breakfasts here used to be pretty over-the-top. Just don’t expect anything too exceptional: this is basically a dive masquerading as a restaurant. Beyond the food, which you’ll either love or hate, the rest of Cup O Chino is a bit hit and miss. I’ve had amazing and awful service here, and the décor is pleasantly clean, although it reminds me a little of an American diner in Texas… probably the wrong look for central Hove. The saving grace here is the location, right across the road from George Street, and thus a great place to start a shopping excursion, or end a meander through town. I doubt I’ll convince anyone with this review that Cup O Chino is amazing: far from it, but it’s not as bad as it looks. Give it a go!

First things first, this is the worst name I could have ever imagined a café could have. I get the pun, don’t get me wrong, but the mispelling of the pun doesn’t really do any favours. Cup’o’chino offers everything from breakfast to dinner, neither of which i’ve had here. I came for a coffee that I wish I had just waited to have at home, it would have saved me £2. The inside was pleasant and clean, which certainly is one thing to say in defence of it. I also quite liked the friendly owner, although the lack of customers made the whole experience a bit awkward.
