Good value, average chain bakery style food. They make some pretty cool looking birthday cakes presumably to order, which are in the window.

I had a quiche meal(with salad) and the quiche was absolutely disgusting, like a cheap cheese pie. No eggs. Spent the next hour trying to get the taste out of my mouth of the piece I put in there. Ughhh. terrible. Also had a white chocolate cookie that was edible but nothing special at all. It looks pretty but the food quality is very poor, and I wonder what that says about their ethos is it all about making things as cheap as possible ???

As is relatively common in Brighton and Hove, Truffles is part of a Sussex wide chain. I find this to be better than your international chains that churn out the same product world wide, local chains like this taylor their offering to fit the local community. I’ve only used Truffles for their delivering service, ordering for the delight of my old office. We would buy dozens of pastries on a weekly basis, but because of staff sickness etc, we were always cancelling and changing orders. Like true pros, Truffles always coped well and made sure they delivered on time. The products are good quality and value for money.

This Sussex based company has branches all over the county and the one on George street is a perfect example of their business model: keep it simple but do it well. They provide a catering and delivery service to most places in Brihgton and the store itself dishes out a daily round of great baked goods whether sweet or savory. Their Danish Pastries are my personal favorite. Great Value!

With 11 different branches this local company provides baked goods for people all around Sussex. In terms of value the Hove branch is arguably among Brighton’s best because, whilst many other places nearby specialise or provide in-house dining facilities, Truffles of Hove keeps it simple, consistently delivering great quality breads and other treats. If you visit the website you’ll see they offer a catering and delivery service to the whole city and if you pop in the store the staff will be more than happy to discuss prices etc. Their pleasant and polite demeanour means you’ll probably receive great service and thus return within days to get another taste of their yummy Danish pastries.
