Gees what a gas. Wine Me Up may be dubiously named but to be honest it’s not a bad off-license. I doubt Raymond Blanc sources his wine from here, however, if you’re in the market for cheap booze this is the place to go. They guys inside are pretty friendly and there’s a fair bit of choice, although not enough to warrant a real blowout. If you’re in the neighborhood you should check it out.

Once you get past the questionable name and painfully cheap looking sign, Wine Me Up is actually a quite comprehensive liquor store. It’s not exactly a wine shop, more like an armoury for a really solid party. They have a wide selection of liquor and beer and plenty of cheap wine for hobos and student house party scene. Their service is polite and charming and the prices are in line with, if not lower than any of the scuzzy corner shop type places that you usually have to leave with your head down clutching your blue bag. Not only that but once you’re inside the place is surprisingly pleasant, it’s just as bare as any shop of this nature but the way that they have displayed the stock is far more creative than the average bargain booze shop. All in this place promises to be a real gem for summer.

«WINEMEUP», said the hobo to his friend before guzzling said business’ 2 bottles for £3.99 offer. This is at least what comes to my mind, that, and how did anybody think«wine me up» was a good name. As already mentioned, they sell 2 bottles of red, white or rose for the shockingly and worringly cheap price of £3.99. I can’t say I took up this offer, I feared the consequences too much. I did get 6 cans of Kronenberg for £5 though, which is pretty much on the money with competitors. Beyond that, you can also get snacks, cigarettes and bus tickets here, always useful.
