Only tried Lounge early in the week — their Fillet Steak special on Monday & Tuesday is great value at £9.95. Staff are always friendly to me, drinks are reasonably priced(they would be getting 40% GP, which is fair and pretty standard. My only gripe is that there is no music to be heard, and the desserts are poor(Movenpik ice cream and pie company pre-made stuff) — get a chef and let him/her make something edible! Its different — a lot of Hull folk don’t like different at all! We cant have all places the same, celebrate some difference. Always found it clean, and I love the bright colours. Its obviously geared up to high volume draft beer at weekends, but that helps pay for the quiet sessions I suppose. I wish they had kept some of the old vinyl from the days when it was a record shop, but thats a personal preference!

I love Lounge, but I don’t think it suits everybody, but I really like the atmosphere. I love the food, although sometimes the menu does seem a little bit limited, but I have my favourites, and I tend to stick to them such as the Pollo a la crème, which is absaloutely fantastic. It can be quite pricey, espeically when you have a few drinks, but I always have a great time and enjoy myself so its worth it. The place itself looks really modern and stylish and I love the fact that bar changes colour! And in the summer its a great place to sit outside and relax with a bottle of wine and a meal with your friends. I would recomend Lounge to anyone… anyone who doesn’t mind ‘posh’ food!!! The food is quality =D

Oh dear, oh dear. When Lounge first opened it was great and we went often! They did a good selection of regularly changing specials which were generally delicious however the food has got worse and worse and now we won’t eat there. The menu has become lazy and the specials disappointing. They now serve the type of food you expect to eat in Weatherspoons. On our last visit I had dressed crab and my husband the stake and ale pie. My crab arrived in a plastic shell, had clearly been bought frozen(when it arrived it was actually too cold to eat and I had to wait for it to warm up) and the accompaning salad was a couple of leaves and onions. The crème brûlée I ordered before that was soggy mush and they didn’t even crisp the top. I wonder if the chef knows you’re meant to do that? My husband’s pie was microwaved to within an inch of it’s life and although generously filled it was rubbery. For my husband to leave a meat pie it must be bad but he left most of it. And why, oh why, do they reserve a table hours before it’s actually booked so that no one else can use it? Then, again I don’t suspose it matters to us as we won’t be going any more.

This place is always busy. I don’t know why. The food is of limited options, the beer is over priced compared to the other bars on Princes Avenue. The staff think they are far more important than they are and wear stupid in ear communications devices which distract them from doing their jobs, ie clearing tables and serving people. The toilets are disgusting and don’t look like they were cleaned since opening. You are not welcome to simply go in there and have a drink. This place is definitely geared towards the pretentious and arrogant, and those who think they are better than they actually are. Avoid.

this is one of the cafes/bars in this area where the beautiful(or so they think!) people go to drink on a friday and saturday night. therefore always full to bursting with lots of arrogant people! the food is nice though! the staff can be pretty arrogant and rude too though unfortunately and they arent that great with children.

not the best of the café bars princes ave has to offer. the food is good but the staff can often be rude. they are not very welcoming to children. and the drinks are rather expensive.

The best café bar on Prince’s Avenue with a good selection of wines and reasonably priced food with good portions. Great heated outside areas to both the front and rear. A couple of comfortable sofas inside and the music is never so deafeningly loud as to ruin your conversations.

I used to say this was one of the best on the Avenue but after my last visit the standard of service has dropped drastically, all I can say if the bar staff took as much notice of taking customers orders properly, and attending to their needs instead of texting on their phones customer satisfaction would be raised to the previous standards. Yes the food is still OK however as they don’t take notice of your order only half comes. I have now boycotted here as there are plenty other offering better service. Come on get your act together.
