Sunrise

I’m not one to go out of my way to complain but I had a horrible experience here after going numerous times over the course of my year living in this neighbourhood. A younger guy seems to now be running the show, with some apparent differeces that can be seen in their customer service.
Timing: I wasn’t in a major rush on trousers that I dropped off so told them on Monday that a Saturday pickup would be absolutely fine. Given the bank holiday the following Monday, I did clarify that Saturday would be the day I would need to get them. When arriving around noon on Saturday for the pickup, the guy told me that they wouldn’t be ready until 4:15PM — though the shop would be closing at 4:30 and would not reopen until Tuesday. Why would you promise your customers a pickup date and only give them a 15 minute window for pickup?
Service on clothes: I brought a pair of trousers with a grass stain on them and the pants were returned to me with the stain still somewhat apparent and 2 additional stains thrown in the mix, including a watermark. I only found this examining the pants on my way back home — what upset me more was that there was no tag indicating that they were unable to take off the stains, no mention by the owner (?) servicing me, and additional (!!!) stains actually on the paints. I probably should have gone back to complain but was so annoyed that I went down the street to another dry cleaner closer to our house to explain the situation and see if they could help. I picked up my trousers from there today — they were able to get rid of ALL the stains.
I would absolutely NOT recommend Sunrise cleaners. A shame, because the other gentleman who we went in to see originally seemed to be much more aware of what was going on and willing to help.

Sunrise is a great little tailor/​drylcleaners on Essex Road, just a short-​ish walk from Angel Tube Station.
It has a pretty fast turnaround for alterations, all at reasonable prices.
A family run business with gorgeous hand-​written signs, definitely worth supporting!
