seems ok when you walk in but after ordering a drink we were asked to look after a baby by two drunk people. we had no choice as they ran outside. the baby started crying and we had to drop our drinks to tell them. it gets worse their baby drops its dummy and, i pick it up and try to give it to bar staff to wash off. does he, no! he just stands here like a moron! one of the parents takes it off us and dips it into my partners beer and give it to their baby!!! we left after that. horrid and stupid bar staff!

I have been going to The Globe since the 70s. It used to be a very popular pub with lots of character, and lots of interesting characters. Until last Saturday 08÷09÷12, I had not been there for about 1 year. Since I last went, it has been refurbished, in the process they have completely ruined it’s character. As a result, the place was almost empty, and all of the interesting characters seem to have moved on. I will not be going back again in a hurry.

Love this pub, especially the new owners. Great real ale pub, staff are friendly and helpful. Nice to see a traditional pub still in a city! Well worth a visit if your in Leicester.

It is easy to walk around in circles trying to find a seat in this place. Try not to do too many laps. While this is kind of funny, I just don’t really like the layout. It feels very different to the pub I knew last century, probably because I remember it as the smokiest pub I have ever been in and that has been taken away from me. Still the beer here is good and they offer a generous CAMRA reduction on it.

Great little pub with a top floor which looks over the street into a toyshop with a creepy doll. Prices are a bit high, but tiger is £2.70. Food is good at ok prices, staff are friendly and service is quick(usually).

One of my favorite pubs in leicester. Drank here as a student, and still drink here as a 40 year old. Not too many pubs 1) stay trading for that long in a city center and 2) i would still want to drink in after 20 odd years — so it must have someting going for it. a good selection of beers a good mix of clientele, a good night !!

Great pub right in the city centre. Traditional ales. Seems very popular at all times during the day and night. Farily good value. Some good food. Great staff and management. Clean

This is a lovely little traditional pub, old wooden tables, mismatched chairs and amusing beer related posters on the walls. It has a good atmosphere, but this has unfortunately declined rapidly since the smoking ban came into force and the number of customers seemed to halve overnight. They do pretty nice food that is very reasonably priced traditional pub fare, excellent portion sizes, but I believe now only until 5pm which can be a bit limiting if you work! Meals are still popular in there at lunchtime though and rightly so. They have a regularly changing specials board too if you fancy something a bit different. The staff are always friendly and there is often a guest ale or two to keep you occupied, but unfortunately the prices in there have been going up and up and up, quite out of proportion to the type of place it is. Whatever you do, don’t order wine or a spirit and mixer in there, you’ll need to remortgage. This is a real shame because the globe is one of the coolest pubs in Leicester as it’s so relaxed, but now it’s just pricing itself out of the market, I’d rather go to the Criterion and get my pints for nearly £1 less!
