As you might have guessed, Bar Four is a destination cocktail bar that serves classic and new cocktails inspired by The Beatles. Alongside tried and tested favourites like Martini, Mojito, Caiprinha and Long Island Iced Tea, you can sip beautifully created drinks made from Grey Goose vodka, Makers Mark bourbon, Bombay Sapphire gin and Raspberry infused South gin. These are mixed with fresh citrus juice, crushed ice and beautifully seasoned sugar syrups. I had a Rocky Raspberry Racoon and was blown away but had to sip it slowly as it cost a whopping £8.95. This would probably be average in a 4 star hotel in London or New York but in Liverpool?!
Not surprisingly, Bar Four’s clientele seems to be couples, local business women unwinding after work and residents from the Hard Days Night Hotel upstairs. The décor is sophisticated (comfy leather arm chairs, subtle lighting and unique art-​work by Paul Ygartua), the staff are efficient and the bar has a lovely vibe. It’s just the prices that mean you might not stay for a second or third drink…
