not that satisfied with the service, one woman server ordering things for us with impatiently which makes me bad mood.

Fine Thai dining. The food was delicious and they was plenty of choice without making it over bearing. Service was fantastic. Excellent quality ingredients are obviously used as this becomes apparent when eating the delicious food. Will definitely go back if I am in the area again.

Unfortunately our experience of this restaurant left a lot to be desired. I ordered the golden baskets starter of sweet corn which when it arrived was sweet corn and not much else, the drama of pouring the sweet corn on the basket was a little lacking as was any taste of Thailand. I was willing to forgive this as the main promised a veggie delight, pad Thai in this case but after an hours wait this had still not materialised and with the waiting staff and management not being able to provide a solid eta we left, anniversary meal delayed but not yet over. Thanks to Wok to go, we did eat Thai and at a fraction of the price! Wok to go was quick, tasty and a much more honest prospect than the overhyped fine dining aspirations of Chaophraya.

This already became my favorite restaurant in Liverpool that I ended up coming here two nights in a row! Yes, it’s that good! I really enjoyed their green curry, it’s excellent! Although I was a bit skeptical at first when my friend brought me here because usually this type of posh and über trendy restaurants serve water down Asian food for non-Asian folks. I know how authentic Thai food tastes like because I have been to Thailand and I hang out with Thai friends who taught me how to cook Thai food. Contrary to my low expectations, I was pleasantly surprised by the succulent massaman & chicken green curry. I thoroughly enjoyed all the food I’ve tried and I was impressed with the sophisticated and contemporary décor as well. This is a great choice for any special occasion, it was the perfect location to meet up with my old friend whom I haven’t seen for more than 20 years.

Lovely décor and friendly helpful staff. Lots to choose from on menu however we found the portions although delicious rather overpriced. Probably wouldnt try again because of that issue.

Nice place, nice food, nice service. But very noisy, hardly allowing conversation for a four person party. Also small portions for a price a little too expensive. We were seated near the kitchen where you can smell all the lovely dishes being served, yummy. Disclaimer: I don’t have a good comparison since it was my first restaurant in the UK, so the price may be suitable here. In Germany I’m used to get a more for 20 Euros.

Possibly a bit over hyped, Chaophraya nevertheless delivers a fine meal. They offer both a selection of prefixed menu samplings or individual menu items if you are in the mood for something specific. I will say none of the options are overly spicy, so if you are looking for heat, you might need to visit elsewhere. With my group, I managed to sample nearly everything and recommend the duck in any form. The coconut rice is also just awesome! The staff is friendly and attentive. They are more than willing to offer suggestions as well. Finally, don’t forgot, if you have a birthday in the group, the staff will be more than glad to embarrass them with attention and a song!

Recently took a family party of 6 there for my daughter’s 21st birthday. We were impressed with the décor and setting and when we were seated in a slightly more private area overlooking the Palm Sugar bar it looked like we were in for a great time. Starters were amazing — beautiful platters of food bursting with flavour. At the point where our mains were about to arrive a manager came over and asked if we like to move to a round table. It became clear it was because they needed to join our table to the one beside us to make one very large table. They said if we moved they would give us two more bottles of wine on the house. We were pretty gobsmacked and felt we were bounced into it. Because it was a special occasion we didn’t want a scene, so agreed to move. We were seated on a very large round table where the gaps between us were too large to allow conversation. Instantly the mains arrived(not great, flabby scallops and sticky rice almost solid). It all felt pretty flat and changed the happy mood. The fact that they were prepared to do this to us made us feel that they didn’t value our custom as much as another larger party. There was little recognition that they had spoiled our evening and pushing wine on us(that we didn’t really need) seemed to make it ok for them. In the end we drank only one of the extra bottles of wine, but we felt so let down that we got them to take off the cost of the first two bottles we had ordered as well. We won’t go back.

When this restaurant first opened it was amazing. I’m a vegetarian and I can honestly say the vegetarian banquet we had was the best vegetarian meal I’ve ever eaten. My husband agreed and even though he isn’t a vegetarian it was his suggestion we had the veggie banquet again last week. What a disappointment. First of all they brought out a meat starter. Then it took ages to cook the main dishes. When they came they were horrid. One was just chunks of veg stir fried and swimming in soy sauce. I’m a hopless cook but could have done better myself. We told the waitress that we were disappointed and that they need to get a decent chef but there was no apology and no-one came to ask us why we were so unhappy. We won’t be going back, which is a shame as the décor is good, the waiting staff are friendly and the food used to be great.

Chaophraya screams class with all its might and it is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy a wonderfully prepared meal. This place is ultra cool, and it really is another feather in the already bursting full cap of Liverpool One. The staff here are ultra attentive and could not be more polite, meaning that you feel unbelievably valued as a customer and as a result want to return time and again. Another reason you will want to keep coming back here is because of the awesome and authentic Thai cuisine which is served up. The value here is great considering the standard of the meal you are given and there is never a penny handed over begrudgingly in this place. I could not speak more highly of this place as it is at the top of its game and it has become a firm favourite of mine in Liverpool One.

I’ve eaten at Chaopraya about five times now and have been thoroughly impressed every time! You expect the food to be expensive given this restaurants location and the prices in the Palm Sugar bar next door. However, the prices are very reasonable and the portions are huge! The beef curry is amazing, the Thai green curry is explosive and the starter sharing platter is fantastic! The décor is great although the fish tank that separates the ladies and the gentleman’s toilets can be a little bit scary as you can see the other people going in and out of the loo. Last time we ate here we sat next to Coleen Rooney which was fun! This place is a big hitter with local celebs!

Ah, Chaophraya. It divides people here, just as it does in Manchester. People either think it’s the best thing ever, or the opposing team thinks it’s as over-hyped and pompous as, say, I dunno, Glee. Well, while Sue Sylvester is just about the only good thing about Glee(other than the fact that my namesake in the show happens to be as equally obsessive compulsive and neurotic as myself), there are plenty of good things about Liverpool’s Chaophraya. It’s still fairly young at only around a year old, it’s next door to Palm Sugar thus attracting plenty of wealthy types, and it has its own bar too which is very laid back and luxurious. The prices have gone up which is a bit of a downer, but the food is good quality and the portion sizes are just enough. The staff are wonderful and actually take you around the restaurant to see where you’d prefer to sit, and there are many great spots to do so, especially their alfresco balcony for summery evenings. Even the bathrooms have a touch of luxury with their real crisp fresh towels and you can get a cordoned off area for your party if you’re holding an event here. The staff are really on track, dressed authentically and very helpful with the menu choices. It might not be worth the bumped up prices but if you want to impress somebody bring them here, as the whole meal, surroundings and service are something of a spectacle.

Chaophraya claim that they offer the best in Thai fine dining cuisine in the UK. It is hard to argue with them. With restaurants in Leeds and Manchester, Liverpool’s outlet does not disappoint. For those of you wondering what it actually means Chaophraya is actually a water system that runs through the heart of Thailand. The river is considered fundamental to the livelihood of the farmers. The reason why this restaurant is so popular is that since the first one opened in Leeds in 2004, the spotlight has been on the food. The owner employing 5 star chefs from Thailand. I could start talking about the food but I might be here a while. There is a plethora of mouth watering options. You will truly be spoilt for choice. I would however recommend you try one of the spicy salads, I chose«plar gung» which is a grilled king prawn salad with some delightful chili sauce. We should really be proud to have Chaophraya in three restaurants in the Northwest. I bet the Londoners are envious when they come visit, and so they should. This really is as good as it gets in terms of Thai fine dining cuisine outside Thailand. Booya!

Ate here just before Christmas with friends. Décor wonderful, waiter charming, food extremely tasty. But then I had to use the bathroom — and I had to use the disabled one. It’s hidden away through the cloakroom and requires a right-angle turn in a tiny space, so almost impossible to access with a wheelchair. It’s also extremely dirty and the staff keep their outdoor clothes in there so if you have a wheelchair you can’t get to the toilet anyway. And one of my friends got horrible food poisoning from the scallops.

Ate here on a Friday evening. tried to book a table at about 3pm that day and all they could offer was 6pm or 10pm, and they were fully booked on the Saturday so be aware that it is popular. The food was fabulous, I’ve eaten at the Chaophraya in Leeds and the setting was much better in Liverpool. Staff were extremely attentive without being obtrusive. My partner is vegetarian and the choice was great. I recommend the sharing starters and the red curry to die for

This is a new THAI restaurant that has been open about 3 weeks so that would be about the 2nd week in June 09. It is situated in the Liverpool one complex on the other side of the bridge to the other restaurants. We went for Lunch, I was really impressed, we were given a guided tour first which i thought was very nice, the place itself was luxurious very high class indeed and a lot of thought has gone into the décor, one can eat on ground level or upstairs and they have a balcony for AL fresco diners. The ladies toilets where beautiful and real folded individual white hand towels. There is also a VIP exclusive dining room if your party is large with the most fabulous table settings. The staff were very courteous indeed and dressed in an authentic manner, they were very helpful with the menu, more of a personal assistant., Now to the menu’ I was amazed as the prices were very reasonable the menu was varied with something for everyone, I found the food to be very tasty and not to little or too much. This restaurant is next door to the Palm sugar bar, and there is an adjoining door so you can have drinks before or after your meal or both this too is a superbly decorated bar, but that’s another story
