Green Days is a great little vegetarian café hidden away on Lark Lane and is a fantastic place to grab breakfast or lunch. Brunch too, by default! The atmosphere is very relaxed and it makes it a great chill-out spot. It can get quite busy numbers-wise though so don’t come here if you’re in a hurry. If you did so, it’d probably kill the mood anyway! The idea is to kick back, read the paper, have a coffee and enjoy some great, tasty, food. The menu features vegetarian and vegan soups, sandwiches, salads, etc… it’s all delicious too. What REALLY interests me the most, though, is the breakfasts. They do fantastic pancakes, fried breakfasts, yoghurt with oats and honey… I could go on and on. Everything I’ve had as been excellent indeed. The drinks are cheap and very tasty too. The coffee was just great, I’m a sucker for a nice coffee. Also couldn’t fault the fresh orange juice! The décor is another winning feature — everything is a bit retro, worn, used. The plates are mismatched, there are paintings all over the walls and jazz tunes play in the background. It suits the mission of this place perfectly. Green Days is an excellent place to spend your time and money. It’s a shining of example of an exceptional local business that is worth supporting.

Green Days has a very good vegetarian menu. The service is very good. There is a good selection of cakes, too. You can have fruit salad and yoghurt or a full vegetarian breakfast, bagel and jam or an all out vegetarian feast. Very nice coffee, they like coffee themselves, you can tell! did I say: nice coffee?! This is so important! Green Days sells german bread and it’s delicious and cheap! £2 for a loaf of this otherwise not easy to find treat. And you know how it works: buy it, use it, or lose it… Support this lovely place. There is the main café on the first floor, with about 6 tables and a bright and friendly, extended seating area upstairs, which is quite good if you have children, actually, or if you feel you want more space to move. The small team at Green Days work with love and work hard. Be mindful when leaving, tips gain you karma points. I can not imagine this is a business run for it’s vast profits, rather it’s a labour of love. Good coffee, a very nice regular spot. Thursday nights is their late dinner night. Do go and check it out. I’ve missed it since I heard about it but will make a date and be there in 2 weeks time. See you at the next table? Enjoy.

From asparagus and avocados to broccoli and watercress, whatever green food you think of there’s a chance Green Days probably have it on the menu. A cosy veggie café on Lark Lane, it’s usually bustling with rosy faced locals reading the papers, catching up with friends and family and humming along to the smooth jazz and funk. The staff are welcoming, the décor is homely and the bright yellow walls make it seem like summer all year round. As for the food, Green Days serves decent portions of wholesome tucker from soups, baguettes and salads to homemade quiches. They also have veggie and vegan-friendly deserts and fruit salads.

Green days Café is in the midst of the bustling and varied Lark Lane area. It is tucked away above 13 Lark Lane, otherwise known as Lark Lane Gallery. The entrance is just round the corner, next to the newsagents on Little parkfield road. The menu is vegetarian and is extensive and varied, from a large and very tasty vegetarian fry up style breakfast, to the very tasty baguettes with unconventional fillings, to the homemade cakes and deserts on display at the counter, which look mouth wateringly good and taste even better. There is a variety of drinks on sale from freshly squeezed fruit juices, fresh coffee and a huge range of different types of teas. There are a variety of continental breads on sale to take home with you. Every time I have eaten in the Café the food has been outstanding. I am not a vegetarian so initially I was wary of eating in a vegetarian Café but The Café has 2 rooms for diners. The atmosphere in each room is cosy, rustic and homely. The décor is stylish and very individual, with a huge range of prints and posters on the walls. The rooms can sometimes get a little cramped but that just adds to the cosy feel. The music played is a mixture of jazz, folk, funk, classical music and contemporary popular music. It is never too loud and adds to the ambience rather than imposing on it. The café is not accessible by wheelchair as there is a very narrow steep set of stairs leading up to it and no other way in for customers. The staff are genuinely very friendly and welcoming. They are happy to explain items on the menu and suggest a dishes to try and drinks to compliment them. The staff don’t pester you whilst you are having your meal or drink, but quietly ask you if everything is OK and then leave you to it. The impression you get from the staff as they work is that they truly enjoy their jobs and take great pleasure in providing the best service and serving the best vegetarian food.

Sometimes kooky and very independent place such as Green Days can be incredibly charming and a real pleasure to eat in and while a way an hour or so with a coffee. However that individual spirit can sometimes be its downfall if you get here at the wrong time. As another reviewer states it can be a bit hit and miss. This is generally when they decide to close a bit early — sometimes open a bit later! But of course you can’t stay mad at them. The cobbled together nature of the place makes the ramshackle atmosphere far too quaint to leave you anything but charmed with them. However this can sometimes spill over into the service when they run out of items — not enough fruit for the veggie fruit breakfast with yoghurt? But it’s the main ingredient?! However the staff are just as nice and slightly out of sorts as the place itself and you will let it slide because the next day you will come in and everything will be perfect. If you want a place to work like a miltary machine with about as much personality you go Starbucks basically.

Green Days café is in a great little nook off Lark Lane, as you ascend the stairs from what seems just like a side door, the sign proclaims, «We are Open, Ooh!» and as the times of opening are rather as and when, they say 10 to 5 «ish» it can be a little hit and miss. But once inside it’s as though you’ve been allowed to sit and drink tea in someone’s lounge, as well, it is kind of someone’s lounge. It’s very retro and bright and they have a wonderful little fire place and 70s mismatched plates and cups and saucers. The appeal of this place definitely has something to do with the homely and welcoming vibe, even though it’s small you feel rather special here. The food is all veggie and they have loads of healthy stuff(Greek yoghurt with toasted oats, fresh fruit and honey, I think so!) and drinks especially are dead cheap. They also have the most amazing homemade cakes– the baked cheesecake and cream, is a sure winner, so if you fancy a snack and a little step up into a quirky little café this is the place to go after a stroll down the kooky lane of Larks.
