I always feel torn when I walk into a branch of Lakeland. On one hand, I am convinced that it is one of the seven circles of Hell — filled with enough tat and ‘helpful kitchen gadgets’(and I use the term loosely) to make even the most ardent Delia Smith acolyte flush with rage. For example, they sell a cupcake maker. A CUPCAKEMAKER. Seriously? Is that how far society has come? That people don’t even feel as though they can use a normal everyday oven to cook cupcakes anymore? As you may have guessed from this review so far, this annoys me greatly. And then there’s the pricing. Oh Mr(or Miss, I believe in equal rights when it comes to being annoyed about kitchenware) Lakeland. Do you really expect me to pay £3 for a dodgy wooden spoon which I can get for £1 a Poundland? Do I look like I’m made of money? Then, on the other hand, it can be bloody useful. Need a jam thermometer in a hurry?(OK, so this might be a statement which only applies to myself) Or a cake tin in the shape of a train? Then this is the place to go. Lakeland — it’s the lazy cooks dream store. Doubt they’ll be asking me to front an ad campaign for the place any time soon though.

Lakeland claims to be the home of creative Kitchen ware and it is a truly high quality establishment with all that you could possibly wish for in terms of your kitchen. These places need to be well decorated in order to inspire confidence in the customer as they will be purchasing things to be used in their own living space and I can safely say that this place hits the mark. The surroundings are plush and very enjoyable to be within which makes for an enjoyable shop. The staff are friendly enough too and they make you feel valued as a customer and as though the entire business really values what you bring as a client. On the whole this place really hits all of its targets and satisfies the customer every time.

Lakeland is a shop that sells almost everything related to cooking. If you’re a chef, cookery wannabee or just enjoy making homemade food, then Lakeland has every kitchen utensil you can imagine, to baking trays and pots & pans. It is a brilliant place to buy the perfect piece of equipment, especially if you are creative minded in the kitchen. Kitchenware is what they specialise in but they do also sell items related to garden and laundry; ideal for the keen gardener and housemaid! If any drawback, prices are relatively expensive yet you are paying for good quality and durable products that will probably last you for years. Everything about Lakeland is fancily displayed which makes it so eye-catching. The shop layout also makes it easy to find what you’re looking for plus there is always staff available to provide assistance.
