This is the worst McDonalds i have ever been in. Out late for Freshers we decided to get some McDonalds and no sooner was the bag placed in my hand than i was ushered out of the shop. We had all been quiet courteous and polite yet i was told i was not allowed to stay with food even though the alternative was to wait alone on the street after midnight. The security guard was extremely obnoxious and the staff rude. I am perfectly happy to abide by rules but nopt when they put me in danger.

Ever since Fast Food Nation was released, McDonald’s have spent a vast proportion of time and money trying to rebrand and remarket their business. They’ve introduced salads and less fattening ranges of food, they’ve put the calorific value of each item on their website and most importantly, they’ve changed their ingredients. Their beef is now sourced from over 16,000 British and Irish farms and according to their promo material has no additives, no fillers and no binders — just 100% beef made from whole cuts of forequarter and flank. Of course, the fact they source their main produce from over 16,000 farms raises questions about the mammoth quantities of food they sell each year and the amount of energy, land and resources it’s going to take to sustain them. Did somebody just mention the phrase ‘greenwashing’ or did I imagine it?! For those that don’t care about McDonald’s ethics and profitability, they’re open for business at this branch from 6am until 5am every day!
