Hotels are expensive in London, and I got a room here at a cheap rate… and it was cheap for a reason. Firstly, the gripes… It was a bare basics room, not big enough to swing a suitcase. You got threadbare towels and a bathroom with nowhere to hang them. The bathroom was so small that you couldn’t sit on the toilet without bumping your knees against the shower. The shower had two unmarked knobs, and apparently only two settings–«scolding hot» and«off». The divider between the room I was in and the next room was so thin that I could hear every word on my neighbour’s TV, which they left on until the early hours of the morning. The bed was vaguely OK, but with thin sheets instead of any nice duvet or any other concession towards actual comfort. On the plus side though, it was recently renovated and perfectly clean, so that’s fine. The lobby seemed quite nice, though I didn’t sit in it. I don’t think I would’ve got much better for the price. If you only want a place to crash on a night out in London, fairly near Earl’s Court, then this is the basic thing you’re after. If you want any hint of luxury, you’ll need to spend more money.

I’m surprised that there is only one review and I’m not surprised that its only 2 stars, because the reviews are just as low on other review sites. I think they’re all wrong! Hotel was a pleasant stay! Room was on the third floor but there was a working elevator and I honestly found the staircase so open and airy that I would rather take them anyway! The front lobby was cute with a wall of books and comfy chairs for your use. We had the family room which was roomy„ even if they didn’t have chairs or a table(go downstairs to the lobby if you really need it, as they ahve 10 or so tables set up for use). the bathroom was super clean and roomy The beds were clean. There was a heating pot for water for tea and coffee(mugs and plenty of tea and instant coffee was offered) and a large fridge. No AC but the room was cool and they gave a fan(that we didn’t need) Breakfast was sufficient(hard boiled eggs, beans, toast, cereal, juice and… I think that’s it… not great but not bad.) no one said anything if you took an extra banana with you for the day(which i recommend cause its expensive to eat anywhere in London) 2 block walk to shops and train station. 1 block to supermarket and bus stop. will DEF stay here again. Only negatives 1) a little variety for breakfast would be nice 2) when you offer housekeeping services, they should do more than make the beds and change the towel and garbage bags(we expected the sheets to get changed since we only requested housekeeping on the 4th day) 3) wifi is 2GBP for 24 hours… limited internet is free two minutes at a time. enough for emails or skype messages but won’t support facebook. That’s pretty much it — it was a very pleasant stay and will def recommend and will stay again.
