Everything good I remember about this place from 15y ago, still true! A regular City caff as it should be. Had all day breakfast, veggie set #1. With bubble, egg, mushrooms beans,(I traded cheese for extra egg) toast, coffee 5.50! Veggie sausage excellent. Whole breakfast was piping hot when it came… Even when I make my own at home it doesn’t make the table this hot!!! Eggs come medium poached, mushrooms nicely browned. Unless you ask different, coffee was a milky cappuccino and toast is white. All perfect for me. Other Lunch items include omelettes, salads, pasta/lasagne, shepherds pie, roast meats, liver & bacon etc and steamed puddings(Xmas pudding available in dec) and pies.

Come here mostly for their vegetarian breakfast, which is alright priced– £5.30 for a decent amount of canned scooped beans, a sadly scrambled egg, 2 brown toast, mushroom, tomatoes, and the choice of either hash browns and veggie patty or halloumi cheese and deep fried veggie sausages. This place does get quite a buzz during lunch hours, where they serve a range of ‘homemade’ dishes such as lasagne and fish pie. Oh. The cleanliness of the kitchen is also questionable… PS. minimum £5 for card.

This place used to be really good when my friends were recording an album at Peer musics old studio it was a regular haunt of ours, and a few years back I would have given it 5 stars as others have. But recently I was very disappointed-the omelette i had was greasy and soggy and the service seemed to have gone downhill too. My friend also didn’t enjoy their meal and left half of it. maybe an off day but i wont be hurrying back.

The memory of my frequent breakfasts at Andrew’s Restaurant is perhaps what makes me miss London most! The food was always delicious and inexpensive, and the staff is very friendly!

When is a greasy spoon not a greasy spoon? When it’s not greasy. Don’t worry, that wasn’t a joke. It’s a comment on the greasy-ness of Andrews. For a place that serves greasy-spoon staples there is a surprising lasck of grease. No bad thing — it’s often the artery clogging element to the food in these kinds of places that makes me avoid them. Thankfully Andrews seems to be able to cook a damn fine English breakfast without it being drowned in a pool of cholesterol. There is plenty of choice on offer — jacket potatoes, omelets, burgers etc — all available for less than you would expect(Grays Inn Road is plagued by places selling £5 plus sandwiches — a hot meal for less is amazing!) and served hot and fast. Last time I went in I had a side of chips — chips that were on a par with classy upscale restaurants. It’s always busy here — a sign of its quality — so you may end up sharing a table with someone — but thats part of its charm. It’s an old school establisment and doesn’t try to be anything else.

This is perfect for what it is. It’s a classic caff, with a lovely traditional interior. The food is hearty, tasty and very reasonably priced. The staff are lovely. I love Andrew’s and hope it never changes or, even worse, closes.

This is no E Pellicci but then again there’s never a wait and you can converse at normal volumes. The artwork is pretty inspired and the waitstaff is just rude enough to be charming. And you get lots of mushrooms. And they usually come nicely browned. I’ve been three times for breakfast and I’m never sorry.

A classic café, with the strong tea, comprehensive menu, big plates, generous portions, rickety chairs, Formica-topped tables and greasy lino floor so essential to the genre. You might have to act casual in the presence of some ITV stars from up the road, just remember they are probably more scared than you are. Service is good, although I have on occasion had to gesticulate pretty wildly for that second cup of tea. Execrable art on the walls fails to dent the appeal; highly recommended. One star deducted because there really is a bit too little elbow-room. Mine’s a set 4 with tea, cheers.

Andrews oozes with the old school charm. This Gray’s Inn caff is big but cozy, popular with the cabbies and the perfect setting for a proper fry-up. It’s a people watching sort of spot. But be careful not to make eye contact; last time I was there I got the sense that sort of forwardness could cost someone a toof! The walls with the likes of flamenco dancer paintings are worth a look too. But it’s not just the visual. The clink and clank of folks stirring cups of tea is lovely and meditative. And when the place is busy, it rumbles with a chorus of gravelled voices. Honestly, like so many of these caffs, the food is hardly of the to die for variety but the atmosphere cannot be beat.

Wow! I can’t believe I’m the first to review this restaurant, ever since I had been working in charancy lane/Holborn. I have become spoilt for choice with cafes/restaurants. This is one of my fave cafes, very friendly staff with plenty of food to choose from. Serving all day breakfast, burgers, jacket potatoes and homemade food. I just love the homemade food especially the lovely roasts. The lamb is so tender and the roast potatoes are cooked perfect. You can have a lovely cooked meal for under a fiver! I also love the sandwiches with fresh crusty bread, and i spoil myself with apple pie at times which cost only £1.60 I highly recommend this place, it is always packed.
