This spot was class! Two fun guys who are always behind the counter will make you a really excellent lunch. Soup, salad, sandwich, it’s all done with nice flavour, fresh ingredients and a willingness to get you in and out as fast as they possibly can(but without making you feel rushed.) It’s a lively place but not a judgemental one and every time I eat here I walk away feeling full but not gross and happy this is where I spent my money. I will be back for sure.

Attending the university just a couple minutes away up St. John Street, I elected to check out Anfa Café while looking for a quality lunch. Previous reviews recommend the ginger and lime chicken salad and I can now back up those recommendations. The chicken was delicious and the box comes packed with good stuff(easily a 5⁄5 for the portion size). Had a caramel latte which was standard quality, but the similarly large serving boosts my rating. £7.60 was great value for the food. Most importantly the gentleman behind the counter(whom I have encountered before while in Anfa Café with friends) is delightful. Strikes up conversation while preparing the food and just seems like a quality guy. Being around the area quite often, I will definitely be going back to Anfa Café.

Needed lunch and needed inspiration and Unilocal to the rescue! This café is run by two blokes who may or may not be brothers but are very much European looking. Went there at 1pm and it was busy with people wanting chicken salads!!! Yes, that was the norm, just like the Unilocal reviewers have been saying. The chicken was actually pretty amazing. I saw them grilling it both sides and you get 4 slices in your salad which is a huge portion together with all the lettuce, tomato and sauce etc. You even get two sides of the flatbread so there was only one route to go — food coma. The flatbread wasn’t too impressive as it was getting cold by the time I walked back to the office(only 5 min away) but the chicken is so tender and soft. The food isn’t filled with sugar either so it felt healthier than other salads you would get from the fast food outlets. Tried the Portugese tart as well which did not disappoint. All in all, lunch for approx £6 was a good deal!

Love this Clerkenwell lunch spot! These 2 guys are like a verifiable comedy duo! They’ll treat you well, give you a chuckle and will get you in and out with your fresh as hell food quicker than you can say«can I have a Portugese tart with that?»(and you should, and some for your officemates, too!). You’ll not need to worry about being treated poorly or leaving with subpar food — Anfa delivers on all 5 stars, I’m here to tell you. I’m partial to the ginger lime chicken over salad — with everything(includes coleslaw, hummus, warm pita, green salad). It’s a courageous dish that never disappoints. The sandwiches all look great too, and everything is fresh. I picked up a batch of 10 Portugese tarts for my colleagues on my last stop and they were literally gone within about 20 minutes, high marks from everyone involved. Always an enjoyable stop for a quick takeaway lunch. They have a few tables to perch, but it’s more of a grab and go kind of place. *cards accepted.

LOVE Anfa — get the ginger/lime salad every time. It’s amazing — and the owner it lovely. It’s the best place to get lunch in Farringdon. PLUS — you can pay for your food with your card.

My favorite place for a quick lunch in Farringdon. Amazingly friendly owner who always remembers my(very)regular order: Spinach flat bread with ginger and lime chicken and added halloumi. You can’t beat it

Lovely fresh salads and wraps and the two men are friendly and efficient. What’s not to like? Those in the know order the chicken salad(they’ll know what you mean).

For £4.50 this place has a good amount of quantity for price. I usually get the salad which comes with some flatbread, hummus, coleslaw, tomatoes and the ginger lime chicken. You get a decent amount of chicken like a breast and a half not like other salads from other places that give you 4 – 5 slices. Proper protein.

Based of the reviews on here thought I would try this place for lunch with some people for work. Can’t fault the food at all, went for the ginger chicken pita and it was amazing. In fact the only negative experience about the whole thing was a major food envy I had from my colleagues ginger chicken salad, so getting that next time. Staff were really friendly as well, to top it off as a great place for lunch.

This is an amazingly delicious hole-in-the-wall restaurant in an unassuming corner in London, close to the Farringdon station. I normally do not eat chicken, but when I went into the place, I knew I had to get the ginger-lime chicken the young man at the counter recommended — he was clearly enthusiastic about what he was doing and made it clear he cared about his customers. I also got the Moroccan lentil soup, which was delicious: one of the best lentil soups I have had, I must say, on par with those in the Middle East. Overall, Anfa Café is a great gem that is more than worth your time to take the metro to Farringdon. The café itself is very small and casual. Definitely very welcoming. It is clear they have a good local following. It seems like it can get quite crowded during lunchtime, but the friendly servers at the counter are very efficient and the food comes out quite fast. If only they had wi-fi… which would put them beyond 5 stars. I would definitely highly recommend Anfa Café. I will return there when I return to London to eat real chicken for probably the next time in life. Not any chicken, however… but the one of the ginger-lime kind…

As much as I would like to play devils advocate, I really can’t, this place is as good as the rest of my fellow Unilocalers say it is. The thing is, to look at Anfa, you would have no idea that the food they serve is so delicious, and shamefully, in this case I did judge a book by it’s cover. Tisk Tisk On recommendation from Über Santa aka Uli B. I went for the ginger-lime chicken salad. What I didn’t realise was that set in front of me was a box of pleasure! The salad box came with couscous, hummus, coleslaw, lots of wonderful leaves and a warm grilled pitta. The portions are very generous, and as a girl who likes large portions, I was more than satisfactory. It’s delectable food for only £4.50, and not that I’m one to call people names but… in the words of Mr T, ‘I pity the fool’ that doesn’t give Anfa Café at least one visit. ;o)

Last night I had a dream… a rather wet dream about the ginger-lime chicken at Anfa Café. In fact, I woke up with a spot on my pillow from the saliva I’d been producing in excess! Yes, it’s really that good. And what is more: the people who work here are just so friendly that a visit to Anfa Café is now part of my weekly routine. If you’re really hungry, I recommend you get the chicken on a salad, which comes with tasty hummus and grilled pita bread(a giant portion for a mere £4.50). If you’re less hungry, you might want to go for the version where they stuff it all in a pita bread. But also for vegetarians, Anfa Café is a match made in heaven — their grilled-halloumi sandwich is quite yummy.

Taken in by all the reviews of the lime grilled chicken and hummus pita and have to say, glad I was taken on that ride! Wonderful pita with crisps and a can of pop for less than 6 quid, now that can’t be bad can it? Also, if you are off on an ego trip, go here, you will never ever get called ‘boss’ this many times in 5 minutes ever again in your life, I guarantee it :)

Judging by the previous reviews it seems I’m a little late-in-the-day to recommend to you the lime chicken and hummus pitta, but seriously — it’s so good. I visited for the first time last week and, determined to avoid eating any bread, I had the hummus salad which was very nice and plentiful with roasted peppers and a french dressing. They have a wide selection of sandwiches, pittas and salads which all look and sound delicious and are made with fresh ingredients. I also noticed they have some great breakfast options so I may have to detour one day on my way into the office. I’ll definitely be returning soon to try something new. Pret can eat Anfa’s shorts(a retro dig there!)

Who says you can’t get a bespoke sandwich in London? It might not be Potbelly, but it’s good enough to make me pause after a bite and proclaim to the office, ‘Wow! This shit is good!’ Now, you might be asking, ‘What shit is he talking about???’ I’m happy to share! See, I had the roast beef with red onions, tomatoes, horseradish and mayo(on my choice of bread, of course) toasted up and delivered in a neatly wrapped paper bag. Forget Pret. I’m over Eat. Who’s Paul? Anfa’s made a fan out of me and I’m very much looking forward to sampling their extensive other offerings.

I walked in at 12:30pm today and starred up at the menu. Then down to the fresh sandwich fillings. Then up to the menu. Then down to the fresh sandwich fillings. After this process was washed, rinsed and repeated more than its fair share, another patron leaned over to me and said: ‘get the lime grilled chicken and hummus Moroccan special. Seriously. I came here yesterday and got it for the first time — now I’m back again today for the same thing.‘ I took her advice. I’ll likely be back tomorrow for the same thing.

A nice cheap and clean café that serves great tasting sandwiches, Moroccan wraps and assorted salads. Hard to beat prices — most sandwiches are under 3 pounds! I had a delicious lime grilled chicken and hummus pita — super tasty and affordable. I’m surprised it took me so long to find Anfa as I walk by it nearly everyday but never even noticed it was there. I’ll definitely go back — quality was very high and the prices really can’t be beat in Clerkenwell — we’re talking freshly made to order food at Tesco level prices. But most importantly, they also have mint tea, which I surely will try next time!

We intended to go to Phở but upon spotting the line we noticed Anfa and decided to take a chance on something new in Clerkenwell. I am glad we did. Whilst trying to suss out my lunch order my eyes flew over every sandwich combination possible and then down to the Moroccan offerings. Given that Anfa is the name of the posh, old city area in Casablanca, a lamb kofte pita seemed like a natural choice. And at just £3.90 it wasn’t much of a risk. When I got my pita back to my desk I was quite pleased with the toasted bread, savoury hummus, tender lamb and fresh, chopped tomatoes that studded my sandwich. The portion was perfect — neither overwhelming me or leaving me still hungry. Next time, I’m trying the falafel!
