Poor customer service from the owner lets this salon down. I phoned to prewarn that I was going to be late. When I arrived the owner questioned me in an unfriendly manner on my lateness, even though it was only by 10mins. The last straw was my following visit when I had a relaxer and trim. After the trim and style I asked for my fringe to be cut a little more. When I went to pay the owner added an extra £10 to my bill and she classed the additional trimming of my fringe as a restyle! That was the last £10 she got from me. Service from the rest of the staff is very good and my hair was done nicely. It’s just a shame that the owner has a horrible disposition. It also seems that the team have been instructed to sell products, including vitamins. That was also off putting!

I have been searching for a salon that would be able to cut my tight corkscrew curly hair. I thought I found THEONE but I don’t think so. I remember being able to get a shampoo, blowdry and cut for $ 25 in Brooklyn. Gone are those days. I just have to suck it up and accept that I might not find a salon that offers the same value in London(not that I won’t continue looking). The customer service at Avorm was great. Everyone was nice and chatty. I fell sucker to the whole«buy these products» talk. Hopefully I won’t regret my purchase. My hair was cut with a razor, yes, a razor. All of my hair. Not just bits here and there. The stylist says that it will offer a ‘softer’ look. I don’t think it looks any softer than when it’s cut with scissors. Frankly, the razor kept tugging at my hair. Ugh. And sadly, unlike my previous styled ‘dos that last a few days my hair is ALREADY frizzing. It has only been a few hours. I’ll blame it on the weather for now since I can’t say if it was due to poor straightening with the flat iron or the humidity in the air. This place might be okay for other but not a good fit for me. And I am still sad that I paid way too much for a frizzy ‘do. Sad day. I think the 3 stars are more for the nice treatment than the haircut. My search continues… ********* I had to update this to 2 stars after waking up to an awful frizzy head full of hair. Soooo not what I asked for.

Avorm has the serious hair hook-up. If you need to get your hairdo stylised on an impressive level this is the salon for you. Also, if you need to stock up on high end hair product and you don’t want to venture to Central London, come here to get some Redken, they have a plethora of sprays and gels and conditioners from this line to choose from. My hair stays bouncy with Fresh Curls; never goes limp thanks to this place. The products and the services are quite pricey. If you want a leave-in conditioner, hairspray and shampoo you’re going to have to part with at least £50. It’s worth it though. If your hair needs buoyancy and volume you’ll do well with splurging on this split-end lacquer.
