Had work Christmas party organised here. We got there and they had not organised an area for us, we had to wait half an hour for them to kick people off tables. Took an hour to get wrist bands for the bar tab. Took 45 minutes to get prosecco that was ordered in advance to be ready as a greeting for guests on arrival. Area we eventually got was in the middle of the room in front of the bar. No good do not recommend at all.

Hot as in no air! Pricey. Young crowd. Busy. Good DJ and music.

Babble is quite male dominated. After being here a few times I always find myself outnumbered by lots of men. The women who come here are the type who love themselves. There are three floors to choose from and a tiny outside terrace. The top floor has a small balcony also. I preferred the top floor as it’s more chilled out up there and the music isn’t too loud. The second floor was more like a club and had to threaten to chin some guy who kept pinching my butt and thinking he was all clever and smooth. Eurgh. Drinks are expensive! It actually kind of hurts when you hand over £12 for 2 single vodkas and the service is also painfully slow. I booked a table here at Babble once for a office outing and requested over the phone a table for 12 people… Well I got the smallest table on the floor and 3 seats! After complaining that it was not what I had booked the staff told me that my reservation included standing space for people… Well why on earth would I bother booking a table if I wanted everyone to just stand? This makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Cocktails weren’t even that nice to be honest. I got ID’d at the bar when trying to order drinks despite already being ID’d before entry. It’s an okay place, not terrible. At least the décor is decent. You can enjoy it if you’re with good company.

Lots of suits, really slow service at the bar(even though it was Wednesday night and dead in there), and steep prices on drinks. More than £10 for a G&T :-/. And they were stingy with the pours. I don’t think I’ll be going back. Lots of other good post-work watering holes to choose from.

I had been to the previous incarnation of Babble City on a few nights out but returned recently to have lunch. The lunch time set up is quite good for a quiet meal and the prices on the menu are reasonable so that something like steak frites is less than £10. In the evening it reverts to its identity as a city bar with suits and Essex birds chasing the suits.

This place is rampant with Essex girls and suits. Unless you have no other place to check out, i would say dont go!

Fine for a few after work drinks, better still for a a Friday evening and highly recommended for all-day-Saturday cocktails.
