Okay, so I have had to be using this place to meet with work related people as the meeting room at work is no more for the moment! All the staff are dressed immaculately and they smile at the appropriate point. However, a few times they have been chatting away and you have to go up to them to prompt that you did actually come in here to get a coffee and not just sit at the table! The noise in here a lot of the time is not good at all. The chairs scrapping across the floor is enough to send you mad. The amount of times I have to say«pardon, can you say that again?» Is a joke. It’s not just the customers that do it it’s the staff as well! PICKTHECHAIRSUP! To move them. They do have a very pretty selection of cakes here and my friend said«yeah it was nice» but that’s not shouting it from the roof tops is it?! The also don’t take card payments for under £5. I get this in other smaller shops etc., but this is Bond Street Mayfair, 50 meters from Oxford Street. Where as a Londoner we do — apologies if this sounds arrogant — actually expect to tap/swipe our way around from a couple of pounds upwards. Yes I am still going back out of necessity, however, I am certainly looking for an alternative so I don’t have to.

This place is amazing. I’m from California and I love dates. It was refreshing to try the different varieties Bateel offers from their own farms in Saudi Arabia. It’s also a wonderful spot for espresso or capuchino. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I look forward to our next visit there.

I’m not a date connoisseur but I love dates and this shop is all about dates. Behind the glass of the counter are beautifully stacked dates in various forms, there are also chocolates available. A little bit dawned by all the choice I opted for a ready made up box of dates and picked up a bottle of sparkling date drink(non-alcoholic) recommended to me by a friend. Both gifts were very well received. Would definitely recommend as an alternative present to chocolates.

Overpriced and pretentious. Plus, definitely not the best dates I ve had, especially considering that you pay so much money!!! You d be better off going to Waitrose of M&S and get a nice box for 1⁄3 of the price. But worse of all, a shocking customer service! The guy in the shop was extremely arrogant, made us feel uncomfortable, and gave the impression he hated being there, working there, talking to people. It was my first and last time there!

Fancy fancy chocolates? Whenever I go to New Bond Street and need a break from shopping, I go to Bateel. After experiencing shopping overload and the large crowd of people on the weekends that flood the high street, it’s nice to have sink my teeth into a chocolaty luscious delight. This festive store has a variety of treats to choose from including hearts and snowmen, to piano pralines and sea shells. I tried the mushroom pralines, an almond praline and a truffle and instantly wished I had milk on hand! The chocolate at Bateel is not for the faint at heart, because it is very rich and creamy! Bateel also prides itself on a delicious selection of dates and sugar free chocolates. The employees are very attentive and treat you as if you’ve entered a five star resort!
