We stayed in similarly priced hotels in Paris, Milan, and Rome. I really liked this hotel. Concierges was friendly. There is a lift. Room had a double and single. The single had its own room. The A/C worked. I really liked the hot water heater and free tea and cookies. Of the other hotels, this had the best pillows. It is located in a safe neighborhood and ridiculously close to Swiss Cottage Tube station. On Wednesdays there is a farmer’s market where you can get coffee, bread, veggies, fruits, etc. Also near Hampstead Theater. There are normal-people stores nearby for groceries or food. The only problem was that the floor creaked. It didnt bother me, though the person above me had very heavy foot steps. I felt bad for the people one floor down, because we were adjusting from a 10 hour time difference and were walking around all hours of the night. So if you are a light sleeper, maybe request the top floor. ;) most people I think were British so maybe there aren’t many people walking around at night normally. Regarding someone else’s review on the web, I didn’t notice the steps being uneven and I used the stairs most of the time. Definitely not posh. Décor was more classic and actually comparable to the other hotels we stayed at. Room for improvement: towel rack for a hand towel, more hooks to hang in the bathroom, and coat hooks.

I know its a Best Western, and it’s just supposed to have the minimum needs, so my breath was taken away when I saw the hotel at first sight. Located at the corner of a residential area, the outside of this hotel looks über fancy and cozy. It’s also located right next to the Swiss Cottage Tube stop and between the walk from the Tube to the hotel there’s the Swiss Cottage farmers market. The fanciness however ends as soon as you walk into the hotel. Everything is outdated, from the furniture to the wallpaper, etc. They do have a lift(aka an elevator as Americans call it) but it fits no more than one person and one luggage. My room was on the third floor, and I noticed many uneven stairs and hallways as I made the trek to and from my room. A few times while climbing the stairs I literally had to catch myself from falling because the stairs were so uneven. The standard double bed room I had was very spacious compared to the room I had at the Holiday inn at Shepperton, but the floors in my room creaked as I walked throughout and I could hear my neighbors above me when they walked. Walls were thin too as I heard my neighbor’s snore next door, not a soundtrack I needed during my rest. They do have«free» wifi, but you need to obtain the access code from the front desk. The wifi is also really spotting as my boss and my devices constantly gets dropped off, especially if the device has been off or in sleep for a little bit. If you’re visiting London on a budget I would actually recommend this location since it’s relatively cheap and convenient. Plus you’ll probably be out of your hotel most of the time anyways so why not save your $ £ €(or whatever currency you’re used to) and go spend it on a nice pint/meal around town!

Despite living over the road, I had to stay here whilst I had building works at home. They’ve had a recent refurb so should be nicer than my stay. The rooms are huge and the breakfast good. On a lovely road within moments of the excellent Swiss Cottage tube(5 mins to Baker St), great amenities and bus links. Suprisingly pleasant.
