I’m a fan of the Blackbird chain, being a regular visitor to their Herne Hill & West Norwood branches. The latest offering is a branch on Hildreth Street, opposite fan favourites M1lk & Brickwood. Given this was my first visit, I undertook the Rebecca litmus test: The Flat White. And it passed with flying colours. Lovely strong coffee and light fluffy foam, really good balance. Enjoyed it sat at one of their outside tables. Only negative was the 15 minutes it took, as (to quote my server) «your order fell off the machine & I totally forgot» Maybe a more robust order system?!
