Went Café Cairo on Friday
night for a friends birthday and wow I was not expecting the place to be as
quirky and fun as it was. The bar is located down the road from Clapham North
tube so is a little off the beaten track. Each of the rooms are pretty snug but
not in a clautrophocic way, staff upstairs were decked up in full costume and
face paint and downstairs there was a band playing some gypsy style music and
later a dj. Although a little scruffy the décor has loads of character with cool
cushions, random furniture and little cubby holes that you can climb into. Out
in the back is a smoking area and colourful tent unfortunately it was too full to go into but looked
lovely and cosy. We were delighted to find that there was also a room decked
with face paints and glitter for everyone to use love it!

very awesome indeed, this place has the theme of Egypt, which you expect with a name like Café Cairo. I heard that years ago this place got burned down but you’d never tell as it’s very much alive and kicking in here. It’s very cryptic and eye catching, walking in you feel as though you’ve walked into a spiritual Egyptian tent and it’s got some great features and decorative’s to feast your eyes on as well as the yummy food! I love finding anything themed but hotels and restaurants are the best as I feel it just adds so much to the experience.
