I was really in the mood for Italian pizza, but I found pasta! Coco Di Mama is basically fast Italian pasta and coffee, which I am really thankful for today! The pasta shape of the day was farfalle and I had a small cup with the mushroom sauce and a bit of chilli oil and Parmesan cheese. I was pleasantly surprised that the pasta was cooked perfectly Al dente and the mushroom sauce was flavourful and tasty! The girl was friendly, explained to me how prices work and nicely answered my questions as I had never been in Coco di Mama before. As this place is a short walk to my work and priced fairly with great service, I intend to return on hungry lunch breaks and try their other recipes!

‘Best coffee in the city’ or so it claims. Er… I think not. My soy cappuccino tasted like boiled water which isn’t really the caffeine kick someone needs when it’s wednesday and all you can do is drink coffee, cry and hope for Friday. Coco di Mama certainly looks appealing with its european gingham bag charm but the pasta isn’t the best. It’s al dente which is what we like but the pots mean I have to dig and then pasta is like ALL over my keyboard at work. Not only that the sauces are pretty mediocre too. They have a selection of different sauces and baked pastas and pasta salads on offer as well but I’ve never tried. Also its really far, so pasta is cold when i walk back to office. Who likes cold congealed carbs?! Anyways, the coffee just ruined it for me. italians are supposed to have good coffee, right? RIGHT? Tip: Stick with the basic pomodoro and skip the bolognese.
