I came here twice and decided I wouldn’t come back after my second visit. The good thing about this place is that it is very inexpensive. They also have a student discount. Both times I came here, I was on my way to class and had my backpack on. I unfortunately did not have a student ID card while I was in London as I was studying here for a semester and my program did not give us student ID’s. I did however have legal paperwork on me that stated I was a student in the UK and had the start and end dates of my program… it was part of the paperwork I needed to get my UK student visa. The first time I came, they were very nice overall and gave me the discount and the price for the chai was very cheap. The chai itself was meh and not that hot. Regardless, I still came back a second time since the workers were nice and because of the price. This time the cashier was rude from the start and also wouldn’t give a discount because she needed to see ID’s. I explained my situation but she continuously interrupted saying no and wouldn’t even look at anything or listen to any explanation. The student discount towards already low prices is not a big deal but the extreme rudeness from the entire second visit along with drinks that aren’t great convinced me not to come here again. There’s probably a reason this place is usually empty. Nero is close by and got lots more weekly business from me. I would give one star except my friend likes their bagels. Nothing special about their bagels, she just said that they’re regular bagels and she likes bagels. So there ya go.

Stopped by this café one morning for breakfast and was sorely disappointed. Read many reviews and thought this would be a nice place to have a coffee and a lite meal. Coffee was meh and wasn’t all too hot. My friend, who’s never been abroad before, ordered a latte and ended up getting a box of porridge since there wasn’t many breakfast options. This place is better for someone craving something sweet or an on-the-go coffee, if you dare. Way too expensive for the product. Lastly, its important to note that the staff is nice but not all too bright or customer service oriented. Don’t go out of your way.

A coffee bar mixed with a sweet shop, could life get any better? Considering within a five minute walk of here there’s probably around 3 Prets, 2 Starbucks, a Costa and a Nero, it must take something pretty special to make me go there more than anywhere else. One key reason why it has is that Coffee & Candy use Caravan coffee. For me, the battle for best coffee served in London is fought between Caravan and Monmouth. Plus with every drink you have in they give you a cute amaretti biscuit. And if you have a sweet tooth, or are just nostalgic, there’s all the sweets you’d expect in an old sweet shop nestled just behind the bar. It’s almost like they’re bribing me at this point It’s also pretty cheap, especially if you’re a student(they have a great discount — less than £2 for a large latte, yes please!). Plus the staff are always really courteous and friendly. I find it really useful that it is always quiet in there. Every single time I’ve been in there I’ve been able to get a table. I may be slightly threatening that by reviewing this place… please don’t all flock in at once, take turns!

Cute place to grab a coffee and snack by the Imperial Hotel. They have soup, sandwiches, pastries, and lots of candy. Some new friends and I stopped in for a quick bite before going to the British Museum nearby. There was just one person behind the counter. I had the cheese croissant and a large semi-skimmed(low fat) cappuccino. It came in just under £5. The croissant was pressed in the panini press and warmed but some of the cheese ended up being cold. They have free wifi here.
