Perfect place for groups starting a nice out(BYOB — drinks shop next door) or those wanting a quiet night. Real Italian cooking with real Italian ingredients. Staff are a bit cold, though.

Super simple menu and the kitchen is about as big as a closet, but they turn out perfect Italian staples. And it’s cheap. Check out the carbonara. This is the quintessential great neighborhood Italian joint.

I hate writing bad reviews but I was REALLY disappointed with this place. 1) The staff couldn’t muster up a smile, 2) they forgot to bring out the water(minor point), 3) it was late on a very quiet evening and they asked us to move from a 4 seater to a 6 seater table(there were 2 of us) just in case they had a table for 4 come in? There were also numerous other 4 seater tables free, 4) they charged us £2 corkage for a £1.5 can of beer, 5) but the food was the most disappointing, not really the taste but the whole presentation — the lasagna tasted ok but wasn’t even served with a garnish of rocket or anything, fine, but the Tuna and Mediterranean vegetables was very sad. It was a standard size tuna steak you would buy from Tesco served with ONE tiny floret of broccoli, about 4 tiny slivers of courgette, and maybe a small slice of grilled eggplant. I wish I’d taken a photo it was so pitiful. It wouldn’t have broken their bank to add a few more bits of broccoli or some other vegetable, to me that was budgeting taken too far. This is a local for me and its BYO which is rare, so I was really hoping I’d like it, but I won’t ever go back nor recommend it. If you do go, maybe stick to the pizza.

Great, cheap local café for simple food and coffee. Quality is not outstanding but very descent for the price. My favourite café in the neighbourhood considering quality and price. Coffee is no worse or better than any in the neighbourhood but significantly cheaper. Also, it is owned and managed by Italians so you get descent panini and pasta dishes.

I live a few minutes away from Daniela’s and have walked by it for ages before I finally gave it a go. I wasn’t sure what it was from the outside. I stopped in for an enjoyed coffee a few times and have more recently been eating there as well. The food counter always offers a great selection of Italian dishes as well as healthy yet satisfying offerings. I highly recommend the grilled chicken breast and roasted veg. They also offer several unique breakfasts instead of the same old standbys. Daniela’s strength is their staff who are very attentive and friendly. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is for the uncomfortable seating and wobbly tables… but I suppose that could be charming to some.

This is a a nice place to hang out. I like the authentic Italian vibe in here with all the Italian specialty foods on the shelves and the fun and casual furniture. The coffee is decent, but I really come here for the beef lasagna. It is good comfort food and yummy. I’ve tried the risotto here but found it too heavy and I didn’t like the pasta that much either, it was too al dente for me, but the lasagne is delicious. I wish the menu was larger here though.

Decent lattes, not fantastic. Although, I’m from SF and picky about these. Pastries are delish. Free and fairly fast wi-fi. Cute décor, pinup girls and kitschy, mismatched furniture and design. Food is pretty good. And prices are reasonable. It’s not somewhere I would go out of your way for, but it’s a very convenient local spot.

Important thing I learned is that this place is BYOB so don’t forget your bottle of vino when you come here :) I read the other reviews about the pasta being amazing, but my pasta was ‘okay’. Pasta didn’t seem fresh, a little overcooked and sauce was lacking a little flavor. Might just have been an off night since others seem to have really enjoyed it. Ordered the anti-pasta to start which was a selection of meats, cheese, bread, olives. It was really nice. I’d come here with my wine just to sit and nibble on this starter and relax.

Nice LA-ish style yet Italian café with home made Italian food and glossy expresso’s. Anything with that pesto they have is always brill and it’s cheaper than a lot of so called Italian eateries that have taken can-opening to a whole new level.

Such great food at such a great price. Hmmm, maybe I shouldn’t review this one and keep it to myself :) Home Italian cooking — just point to what you want and have it spooned onto your plate. Lasagnes, pastas, mozorella tomatoes, etc. all excellent. BYOB with your friends for a chilled out and very reasonably priced evening.

Daniela’s is a funky little café with no shortage of fun things to look at or thumb through while you’re waiting an exorbitant amount of time for your eggs. Don’t get me wrong, it’s lovely and the food is wonderful, but be prepared to wait ages if you’re in there on a Sunday morning. That said, it’s worth it — the ingredients are fresh, the bread fantastic and the espresso strong. I really like the focaccia sandwiches. So many places overdo it on the oil and butter, but Daniela’s is just right. Perfectly light and crispy.

Loving Daniela Lounge! Delicious Delicious! This place is the real deal — a little gem in Maida Vale where you get to sample a bit of real Italy in genuinely unique surroundings. Loving the shelves full of old VHS videos and books. so one of a kind is this that there is even a baywatch themed old pinball machine… enough about the surroundings though — what you will come here for is some of the best Italian in London for a much smaller charge than expected. Bring your own wine(loving this) — or pop down to Daniela’s Deli and pick up a nice Italian red to enjoy with your meal.

If you’re looking for great Italian food in a homely environment then Daniela’s Lounge is the place. Set in the heart of Maida Vale Daniela’s Lounge could easily be mistaken for a trendy café from the outside but first impressions can be deceiving Step inside and you will discover a true taste of Italy– the Italian movie references such as Dolce Vita and Sophie Loren adorn the walls and large simple menus. The book shelves crammed with books and the stylish perspex furniture makes you feel like you have walked into a stylish friend’s living room. The irregular tables makes Daniela’s Lounge even more cosy and I love the fact that the kitchen is visible from most tables. The portions are very generous and all come with a large side salad. The spinach and ricotta cheese cannelloni was superb and even better than the cannelloni I tasted in Tuscany. You can bring your own wine which is another lovely touch which adds to the laid back vibe. If beer is more to your taste pop into Daniela’s Deli next door and buy some authentic Italian beer.

Daniela’s Café is a funky café near Warwick Ave tube staffed by Italian girls who are decent cooks. I’m partial to the truffle butter scrambled eggs, which are seriously good. And their toast is excellent. I know thats not a winning point for most people but I’m a fan of toast, and I’ll vouch for theirs. They have your usual coffee, tea and juice options, some hot options for lunch, and a series of breakfasts that have various assortments of eggs, toast, and sausages. Its reasonably priced, and has a great ambiance as well. Probably not the place to take your in-laws, there are a few photos of half-naked women(tasteful, black & white) lining the walls, but for the under 45 crowd its just fine. The service can be a bit slow, the waitresses seem a gossipy bunch, but they’re not offended if you go up to the front to ask for the cheque. Recommended for casual catch-up sessions on the weekend with friends, or perhaps for the morning after brunch ;)
