This place is now called Café Vakko. Had The English Breakfast here one morning last week. The bacon was too salty.

Sometimes me and my boyfriend have lunch here. I can’t say that I like how this place looks, it’s simple and very«grab a bite and leave» kind of place but I can say that most of the food here is delicious: lasagne, spaghetti bolognese, bbq sandwiches, the salads, jacked potatoes and nevertheless the apple crumble with loads of custard. Dunno about the rest. The portions are huge(normally I can’t finish what’s on my plate) and the prices are moderate. Everyday they have special offers that cost no more than £4. The staff is super friendly and the service is quick.

This place looks like plastic and the food is terrible. With a wipe clean interior this place has no character, which would be OK if the food was any good. You get a massive portion, but all the fillings are drenched in mayo. The bread is soggy and not that great and they give you cheese even if you say you don’t want it as an extra. That said I have only been here three times and this was always late. However I am not sure why you would go here in the day when there are so many better choices up the road. The last visit was the last straw, the chicken bacon and avocado bagel was just pure filth and I had to leave half of it. I shall not be going back, regardless of whether I come back home late or not! It is just worth my waistline!

I like the food, the location, the staff, the clealiness. I would score a rating of 9⁄10 except that it is not 100% halal. Eventhough most of the food are served halal but there are some which are not… I guess the owner would like to attract as many customer as possible. I can understand but halal cannot be mixed with non-halal even if the non-halal food are prepared separately and using different utensils… you will not find such mixture if you patronised a Kosher restaurant… I use to cancel my order and walked away from a fast food restaurant when the ribs I ordered was a pork rib but they served halal chicken. Hence, halal is not to be engraved on entrance but need to be certified and needed to be 100% and not 80% halal. Otherwise, it will just confuse everyone especially so the non-muslims and muslims alike who might thought oh yes, halal can be mixed with non-halal or a restaurant can served alcoholic drink but their food served are halal. I ever walked out of this place when I saw 2 menus are served Ham and Bacon. Reza, being a muslim yourself, I suggest strongly you look into this matter to attract more customer. I came from a non-muslim country and issues like these are very sensitive but when it comes to food and restaurants they make sure that they have halal certification otherwise their license will be revoke. Hence, the customers are enjoying different kinds of cuisine from different origins.

Much as a band is only as good as its drummer, a stuffed bagel is only as good as the quality of the bagel itself. Eroma lets itself down here, with un-delicious bagels. It’s a shame, because it could be a great spot for a cheap bite. Chaps, get a grip!

I genuinely can’t decide about this place. Before they opened not too long ago there was bakery which I never went into because the smell that emanated from there made me nauseous, then again I was pregnant. So when this very red, 24 hour, flat screen massive TV and internet café opened it was a delight. They place the desserts on the window display and they look very tempting, they are not amazing but when you crave something sweet they’ll do the job. Whether you eat in or out, the portions a very generous. My favourite; jerk chicken on toasted sun-dried tomato bread, that is a plus, they have about 7 different kinds of bread for many, many fillings. The jacket potatoes are really good too, fluffy inside and crispy on the outside. HOWEVER, the last time I had my favourite I had a bit of an upset stomach afterwards. Sometimes when you are eating something you know that your stomach is not liking it, and I felt it that time. I didn’t finish it and I was right. I don’t know if it was just unlucky, but my flat mate had always pointed out how the fillings(placed in massive mountains) seemed to be kept on the display area for ages and that they probably don’t change them as regularly as they should. I never agreed with her, but after that day I kind of did.

Very filling, as the portions are generous. Great food and great value for money.

I went here for lunch this week as I’ve been meaning to check it out since it opened and finally got round to it. Eroma is 24 hour internet café that serves bagels, sandwiches, salads, jacket potatoes, Jamaican patties and some pasta dishes. Nothing too fancy but very good value and generous portions. The jacket potato I had was enormous and accompanied by some peculiar salady things(like parsley sprinkled with couscous(?!)). It was well cooked and fluffy but the skin was not as crispy as I like it to be, but that’s a minor detail really. My lunch date had a chicken, bacon & avocado toasted bagel which was nice if a little heavy with mayo. The décor is one step up from cheap and cheerful clean and efficient with a little bit of sass. The zinger is that I can get a coffee and a bagel at any time of day, and it’s pretty inexpensive, so I can rest easy knowing that.

Why am I reviewing this café/sandwich shop, fitted out in red plastic, and not looking very special? Because they have THEBEST jacket potatoes around — HUGE, I mean you have never encountered jacket potatoes this big in a café before, with fluffy potato and crisp jackets, plus you can choose from a counter display of fresh fillings. When you eat in you also get a side salad, which all in all makes a terrific and very cheap meal. The same goes for their baguettes and sandwiches, you can choose your own fillings from a large selection, and it’s all at a great price.
