Excellent coffee shop and bakery. The cakes are delicious. I had a apricot and fruit scone and it was a revelation — completely unexpected — the best scone I’ve ever had. My latte was just right as well. Really great prices too, not overpriced like a lotto four local options here. And very friendly staff, plus fast wifi. Awesome.

I don’t usually like to review chains, I kind of equate it to posting on «What are you listening to now?» threads on forums to boost one’s post counts. Yes, my teenage years were a mix of internet posting and Japanese RPGs… and you wonder how I turned out. ANYWAY. I’ve been here a few times out of convenience. I do rather like Gail’s stuff — I love their sausage rolls and cinnamon buns(basically, the fatty things) and their coffee is of decent quality to boot, so they get my approval. The KR Gail’s is a smallish space with a handful of tables; however, it’s not as small as some of the teenier ones, yet I feel like their selection is a bit lacking compared to some of the other branches. Why that is, I’m not sure, and I’m very much talking about my own preferences here, but I kind of expect more(especially as they have shelving complete with compotes and books. I want my sausage rolls, dammit). Still, their staff are nice and the croissants I had this morning were really enjoyable(nice and flaky and buttery… good croissants are rather hard to come by, but Gail’s do really good ones). Still, I’d like to see a bigger selection for that extra star here.

Gail’s is a nice high end bakery on the King’s Road with lots of different food options, coffee and tea, and an overall really nice ambiance. It’s more than just a coffee shop, but if that’s all you need you can certainly find it there. You’ll also find a nice array of fresh bread baked daily, sandwiches, or even some sweets if you fancy them. Definitely a good breakfast place on weekends, and it usually is just busy enough that there are a lot of people inside, but not so many that you can’t get a seat. Definitely a good sign.

The baked treats on offer are just about what I’d expect for a bakery around here. Nothing out of this world, but definitely no corners cut. This is exactly the sort of place I’d like to pop in to get something light to take out and eat in the park. I got an easter gingerbread biscuit and a flat white and both were good. Where Gail’s really stood out was on service. Plenty of staff around to help you out, and all really friendly.

Great coffee/café — fantastic breakfasts, muesli greek yogurt and rhubarb sauces, sandwiches, and salads — great atmosphere — great food. The salads are outstanding. great place — beats all the other cafes near by.

A cozy corner café bakery might be the last thing SW3 needs, but hey, can you really have too much of a good thing? Near the fire station on Kings Road this small but well stocked establishment serves up the familiar, country loaves of bread, lemon drizzle cakes, pastries, the lot. All fresh and delicious. Is it any different or exciting then any other place, no, but it is a reliable and the goods are tasty. To be honest a lot of what was on offer reminded me of Baker & Spice though lacking a bit of the same punch. Yet since B&S is no where to be found at this end of Chelsea, this place fills in nicely. There is a small seating space which means you can sit for a light bite, or take away anything splendidly displayed on the counters. Definitely worth a try.
