EDITEDREVIEW. Ok, I visited the bar, I forgot my card(behind the bar, getting a tab) and when I went back a few days later to collect it they said they couldn’t find it. The ‘manager’(ie chump) was aggressively unhelpful, basically accusing me of lying about them having my card(despite the fact I still have the numbered tab card they gave me), refused to accept responsibility for it’s loss, and couldn’t be bothered to even apologize for losing my card. Either they lost it, or a member of staff took it. Whatever — it’s the manager’s responsibility. I won’t be going back there again, and if you go — don’t leave your card behind the bar… — — — — – ORIGINALREVIEW well, it IS a ‘large contemporary space’(it used to be a garage) but as for ‘exciting and unusual’, well, it used to be a garage… friendly enough staff, even on a busy world cup night(semis, 2010). the good, reasonably priced food encouraged eating if not ‘freedom and happiness’… good for sports and beers with mates, but not the classiest joint in town.

Liked the atmosphere on a friday night — fun and much less scary than the Walkabout just around the corner, on the Green. Decent selection of beers, ciders and quick cocktail menu, plus vast amounts of pool tables and seating, ranging from booths to shared tables and individual tables. All staff very friendly. Some friends ordered a few food items, which took a little while to arrive but were well presented and flavoursome. Fudge Cake went down very well! About the usual London prices for drinks, and £5 per hour for a pool table. We also liked the pictures projected on the walls — an ever-changing array of silly things — maybe some b3tans work there!

This pace is huuuge! This barn like establishment looks perfectly innocuous from its garage entrance on Goldhawk road… Perfect for watching sports on the huge screens whilst playing pool with mates on a rainy weekend. And there is a slightly bizarre and sparse collection of pictures from films and sports on the walls.

The Green Room was the site of a friend’s going-away bash. Not in my area and seemingly difficult to get too, I wasn’t exactly ecstatic about the choice of location but thought I’d better suck it up and make the trip. No big surprise to me, I arrived to a bar sans-friends and after a few hasty phone calls realized they were easily going to be another 40 minutes on top of my own tardy arrival. Hmm, what to do? Take a dive into the menu and fill my time and my tummy with something worth Unilocaling about. The menu is burger heavy and I thought I’d better sample one for good measure. The California burger was top of my list, winning my heart with toppings like guacamole, salsa, bacon, cheese and sour cream. When the barman brought the heaving plates in our direction I realized why I’d just forked out £9 for it, it was GIGANTIC. After all my efforts to squish it down to size, there was no way it was going to be edible in any normal fashion.) Approximately six inches in height, you’d have to be a special kind of lady to make it graceful. Here’s the deal, the drinks are pretty cheap but never over-poured(you’re getting strictly 25 ml), the location is actually a hop-skip and jump Shepherd’s Bush, and the venue is massive. It appears to be a converted barn, with photography adorning the walls and pool tables to keep you occupied. It’s not too shabby and everyone’s friendly(or too drunk to bother being rude). It doesn’t leave me reminiscing about backstage green rooms or have a theatre-esque vibe but it is definitely a fine place to have a beer and burger, play pool and watch sports on the wall-sized screen.

Tonight was one of my rare meanders over to west London for a beverage or three with my South Pacific friends. The Green Room played host to our gathering and what a joy this place is to behold. The huge plasma screen was showing rugby and many of the inhabitants were vehemently supporting their team whilst proudly wearing the team colours. The spacious barn’esqe establishment housed seven pool tables, a decent sized bar and plenty of bench seating and tables. The décor was simple egg shell white, but it was what adorned the wall that was eye-catching. There were plenty of pictures representing historic moments in sports and film, and a few special shots added for comic value. The one of the queen driving a black cab, shouldering a pistol was one of my favourites. There were also projections of artistic portraiture that gave a real cool vibe to the place. The food revolves solely around burgers and at £9 a pop they are not cheap, but when it landed in front of me I would of paid twice as much and not complained. I had a Kiwi burger and it was just a beast. It was GIGANTOR and possibly the tastiest burger I have ever had. I cannot rate it enough. One thing for sure is our Aussie, Kiwi and SA friends certainly know how to drink and be merry. Maybe the fighting outside on the patio between a group of guys was down to extreme excess consumption of alcohol. The young lady giggling and rolling on the floor definitely needed to slow down on the Babycham. I think the exuberance in which the two Aussie ladies thrapped their hands in front of their make-believe penises whilst verbalising some form of obscenity in the direction of some grinning equally inebriated chap was probably down to a high consumption of booze too. Are you starting to see the picture. If you want a great establishment in which to watch sport, drink booze(lots of it) with friends and be served by some of the nicest and most laid back staff I have come across, you want to be at the Green Room.

A new bar that’s just opened up in the Shepherds Bush area, and is unique for the sheer amount of space on offer. It feels light, airy and the big huge screens that dominate the walls make it feel multi-media and contemporary. and the six pool tables that you can play.
