Not that good. I feel bad saying it, but someone has too. A mate and I went and my first impression was that it had an odd odor. The bar staff were less than enthusiastic. They were in no hurry to serve us, even after we had been standing at the bar for ~10 minutes, and there were no more than 15 people in the bar. Also, there happened to be a DJ there blasting techno, even though no one was into it and it really just made the entire experience that much worse. The drinks are too expensive given the selection available — John Smith’s, Carling, Carlsberg, Amstel, Beck’s etc. The worst thing, though, is that the Herbert Chapman has absolutely no character. Its a pub, but it felt as if I was drinking in a dingy basement. TIP: It’s packed whenever Arsenal place a home match, if that matters to you.
