Seriously legit food here. Their jerk chicken is some of the best in town. The sauce is spot on. Rice and peas could have a little more love but you really can’t go wrong here if you want authentic tasty food. To avoid disappointment, call before you go if you want a certain dish as they can run out of popular things quite early some nights. Local gem

How about some good value home cooked Caribbean food for lunch?! I went for one of the specials and thoroughly enjoyed the chicken Stew with rice’n’peas. Jay Dee’s is a bit off the beaten track, i.e. a side road off All Saints, but well worth the extra steps away from Portobello Road. Good to know I won’t have to wait till Carnival for my next fix of jerk chicken — and I wonder what is included in a Rasta Man Combo …

Ordered deliver from them. Menu includes run of the mill caribbean food but there is no need to stray far when you do the basics so well. Food was very good! Four of us ordered: 2 oxtails, one stew chicken and one jerk chicken; all with rice and peas. We also ordered the plantains and a beef patty. Beef patty was a bit on the skinny side but the meat taste fresh and wasnt dried out. The oxtail entrees had a good amount of oxtail and each featured a fair amount of meat on each bone. The gravy wasnt greasy either. The jerk chicken(my favorite of the entrees we ordered) had the right amount of jerk seasoning and had a crispy skin. The meat was succulent as well. The stew chicken was average but good. I definitely would recommend this to anyone who wanted some high quality jamaican food.
