ignore the negative review on this site… just back from a quick visit there to repair a broken pedal. They only charged £1.50 to replace the crank bolt including fitting and plenty of free advice. I found the staff very friendly and knowledgeable. This is a proper, no nonsense old school repair shop — highly recommended.

Terrible place to go for anything other than buying a lock.
Horrible customer service. Overpriced everything.
Bought some lube for £7 but it was half full. They must have used it during service then sold me the rest! Overheard a customer asking them to fix her bike, the owner of the shop said that it’ll cost £20 to replace a rear axle without even looking at the bike, but I could see that it wasn’t broken, just needed adjusting of either the gears or axle cones. How could a 45kg lady snap a rear screw on high tensile axle anyway?! I can’t even do that and I do 10 foot drops on a hardtail.
Total scumbags.
Just looking at the dirty & messy shop is an indication of how organised they are. Parts are left to rust in the ‘professional cleaning sink’. Bit’s and pieces are lying around on the floor. The ONLY things that are organised are the tools. Cleaned & polished they dominate the far wall. It’s obvious the store spent all it’s money on the tools and nothing on staff training & shop upgrades (ie. clean the shop).
Better to use an independent or high street mechanic.

This shop has been here long before cycling became fashionable. They really know their stuff and it’s the best place in the area to take your bike in for a service.
The main draw back is its size (far too small) and bikes can’t be taken in over night.
Good stock of bicycle accessories you wouldn’t find anywhere else — you have to ask or look through their catalogue as not everything is on display.
